Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariners and Stowaway: The Old Man on the Shore Guides
Every September we bring a special event to the game worlds called The Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariners, and we’re happy to announce that there’s now a new second event taking place this time of the year featuring new Missions and rewards called Stowaway: The Old Man on the Shore!
The Old Man on the Shore and The Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariners begins at 10:00 AM Eastern on September 16th and runs until 3:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT) on September 23rd!
Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariners
Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariners begins on the shore of the Brandywine River, just a bit north of the town of Buckland, within sight of the Brandywine Bridge. Find Argirion, the First Mate of the Gilminuial, and help him locate his Captain and lost cargo!
After speaking with Argirion you’ll chat with Captain Aranhir in Evendim (location 14.6 South, 61.7 West), then go along the shore to collect Kegs of Cram and Bottles of Ale (located in Waterlogged Crates) that have been strewn around the river’s banks.
Once you’ve picked up enough Cram and Ale, head back to Argirion to complete your quest! Waterlogged Crates can also sometimes house rewards, including eyepatches, hats, crafting ingredients and more. Speak to the Quartermaster Mindambeth next to Argirion to barter your Cram and Ale for a Mariner’s Hat, Eye-Patch, or both!
Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariners can only be completed once per character! However, the Waterlogged Crates and Kegs of Cram remain available to gather resources from if you would like further items. The Cram and Ale go into your Wallet.
Stowaway: The Old Man on the Shore
The life of a Mariner can be difficult, and for one such seafarer his tale may almost be written. Find Falnavar near death in Evendim, along the Brandywine River near Barandalf, at 16.3 South, 60.6 West. Take part in his story of adventure, travel, and vengeance through a series of Missions!
To get started, speak with Falnavar several times, and eventually Missions will become available. There are eleven missions in total, and each mission is unlocked progressively as you complete them. Completing the series will award you a Mariner-themed cosmetic set! Completing the missions also awards Legendary Item XP.
These missions can be run once per day, although Mithril can be used to unlock the timer if desired.
