The Feared Beasts of Draugardh

Not every shadow fled when Mordor's fires dimmed, and some of the Dark Lord's oldest servants are issuing forth. The Were-wolves of Mordor have emerged!

Here is a brief overview of some of the upcoming enemies in The Wolves of Mordor:

Gaurhoth:

Gaurhoth are Were-wolves bred by Morgoth and Sauron through feeding them fell spirits and by using necromancy. Gaurhoth have great size and intelligence as well as the powers of both speech and sorcery. These servants were among the first disciples of Sauron in the First Age in Mordor, but their standing declined with the advent of the Nazgûl and Gûrzyul. Bedeviled by crisis and unrest since Sauron’s downfall, they now yearn for a new way to stem their inevitable decline.

Draugrim:

The Draugrim are lesser Were-wolves who are the result of the Gaurhoth's separation from Sauron's necromancy. These smaller, semi-bipedal creatures are more wolf-like than man-ish. The Gaurhoth rule over them with disdain.

Khûrz-hai:

The venom-maddened and berserk Wolven-kin known as the Khûrz-hai are also called “The Enraged” by the Khashkhilar and other Men of Draugardh.

Hinderlings:

Wretched Orc-kin that have been deformed, born from an early and failed attempt by the Gaurhoth to breed stronger creatures for Sauron's armies. Known commonly as "Hinderlings", the Staglob live a savage and miserable existence in Nan Ogol.

Orming:

The Orming are a smaller winged bird-serpent of Nan Ogol known for being vicious pests. The Gaurhoth performed rituals of Beast-craft upon them in the Third Age, eventually producing the fell beasts. These smaller versions swarm the trees of the Fiendhold and can often be seen in the Rhavas.

Feasters:

Feasters are vulture-like Thyrsings who serve Hrávamat the Feast-father. Called Gostâr in Black Speech, they appear as a mix of vulture and man and are known for their insatiable gluttony. Teeming within Hrávamat's fane of Naethion, they hunt all manner of creatures in the depths of the Fell-vale.

Mire-maggot:

Mire-maggots are hideous, giant feeler-covered grubs that writhe about in the damp, mossy floor of Nan Ogol. Their bite is venomous and deadly!
