In The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria Book 7: Leaves of Lothlórien, we introduced a number of changes to Ered Luin as well as Archet, Combe and Staddle. Today Matt "Scenario" Elliott provides us with the conclusion of his creative process. “With my detailing complete, I was now able to enter my comfort zone again. Spec writing (like Dev Diary writing) is not my forte – I am much more comfortable navigating the views and panels of our Landscape and Level Design tools.”

In today’s update we find Matt "Scenario" Elliott getting back to his roots as he takes us through the process of creating the new crafting instances. “As the development of Moria concluded, I found myself yearning to take a temporary step away from managing the World Design Team and back towards my foundations as a live designer. This is the story of how I spent my four weeks after Moria went live.”

Senior Designer Allan “Orion” Maki was given a daunting task for Book 7: Leaves of Lórien:
“As a game developer, I often find people asking me tough questions about the future… Recently, however, I have been spending my time peering into the past -- as if through Galadriel’s mirror -- reviewing early gameplay experiences. From this analysis we are making changes to better acclimate both those new to the wonderful world of Middle-earth and those new to MMOs in general.”

Jeff “Made of Lions” Libby, the creative voice behind LOTRO’s epic storyline, shares some of the new things players will discover in Book 7: “…there’s a new Epic Book to continue the story of Volume II, the Fellowship of the Ring has (mostly) arrived in Lothlórien and will be pleased to see you again, and the land of the Galadhrim must be kept safe from the dangers of the outside world.”
