Galloping Gala 2012

Get ready to ride like the wind! The Galloping Gala has arrived! Join us and your fellow kinships as we kick off a series of horse themed events and contests that will run between May 3rd and May 16th!
 
Compete with your friends by participating in races held by the LOTRO Community in-game and meet new friends by attending social events and horse shows. If in-game events aren’t your cup of tea (or coffee), you can participate in our Galloping Gala Screenshot Contest, enter special lotteries, and visit community sites to collect coupons.

Wondering what’s going on for your server, or what events are taking place on the other servers? Look no further than the Schedule of Events, which lists the specific events taking place on each server, their times, and where you can visit to learn more about them.
 
Many of these events have special prizes, like Turbine Points and the chance to win a Perlino Steed, so make sure to participate in them! Plus, even if you’re not racing, the event coordinators will be sending out a special coupon that will get you 30% off of the riding skill!
 
 
Looking for that one special horse that briefly appeared in the LOTRO Store, but hasn’t yet returned to the stables? Wait no longer! From Friday, May 4th until Sunday, May 6th, all of the LOTRO Store Exclusive Steeds will be available for purchase. Make sure to get the mount of your dreams before they all ride into the sunset.

Do you have the eye of a photographer? Can you capture the excitement of the race as the horses cross the finish line? Or are you more of a person who enjoys taking the photos of the crowds and their clothing?

LOTRO Fashion Week 2012

 
Adventuring never looked this good! From February 9th to the 16th it’s Fashion Week here in LOTRO. Pull out your finest fabrics and make sure to participate in these various community and in-game events.

Is your wardrobe to die for? Do you have a closet that would put most celebrities to shame? Well, break out your finest ensembles for our Fashion Screenshot Contest! We’re looking for this year’s hottest styles and you won’t be judged solely by the Community Team. This contest features two special community awards – one handed out by our team of fashionistas, and the other by the community itself.
 
 
Make sure you’re color coordinated between February 10th and 12th, because our resident Fashion Maven will be walking the many trails of Middle-earth. If you’re spotted in-game by her, you might win the coveted title of “The Fashionable” if you can impress this discerning maiden. Wear a fashion faux pas in front of her, however, and you might be known as “The Eye-sore.”
 
 
Be sure to check the lotteries frequently during Fashion Week! Fashionable items of gold and silver plus cosmetics of all types will be found in random lotteries all week long. Don’t forget to follow @LOTRO on Twitter for Fashion Flash Lotteries.
