Crickhollow: The Roving Threat Grand Tour of Middle Earth

For years, Crickhollow’s very own Roving Threat Raid Group, created by Foxfern and now hosted by Starr, Tyberius, and other prominent names on the server, has toured various locations around Middle-earth every Sunday evening, stamping out Roving Threats wherever they may roam. In celebration of their heroic efforts, we invite you to come along with them as they tour all of Middle-earth, from Eriador to the Elderslade and everywhere in between, on this one-of-a-kind expedition to hit every single Roving Threat in the LOTRO world, including the dreaded Nazgul who stalk Mordor Besieged! Rise up, defenders of the Free Peoples!

I recommend preregistering for this event if you are confident you can wake up in time to be there.
If it makes you feel any better, the scouting team may have been up half the night looking for Spitpyre or whichever RT is missing in SMirkwood.

We are running three teams for this event and all teams still have spaces available as of today:
Team Krabakam (raid lead Kanobiobiwan): team colours purple/black and team mascots are canines
Team Render (raid lead Starr): team colour is FIRE and team mascots are grims
Team Gronkerna (raid lead Tyberius): team mascots are mumaks

    How do you preregister?
    1. You can preregister on the Crickhollow RT Discord. If you are not already a member, talk to Starr or Tyberius in game and we’ll send you an invite.
    2. If you don’t do Discord, that’s fine. Talk in game with Starr or Tyberius, or send Starr an in-game mail with your character name/class/level and your team of preference (Krabakam, Render or Gronkerna).

It's been a while since I did these. Is there a minimum level required for the character?

Even if I don't make it next week, thanks for putting on this event and I hope you do it again. It sounds fun.

Our group has been running a Roving Threats hunt every Sunday on Crickhollow for more than six years. Back in the early days, Foxfern did all of the scouting and leading herself, but after she retired we formed a group of a dozen of us who run the event. Usually we do four or five zones and it takes about 2 hours. This Grand Tour of all the RTs is a one-time event and a celebration of this Crickhollow tradition!

I've been asked if you must be level 130 to do the RT Grand Tour.

Any level character is welcome to come to the Opening Ceremonies and to join us in Bree to enjoy the music during both intermissions (Breakfast Club at 2:15 and Dulcet Tones at 4:45).

At level 95, you can do stage 1 (Eriador) and stage 2 (Gondor), or everything except Stage 3 (Mordor, Nazgul, Dale, 3Peaks), and we are perfectly fine with you joining for only the first or first and second stages as long as we know.

For stage 3, we can haul along a level 115 toon easily, including valars. And level 125 is high enough to be helpful. Honestly, it depends on how death-averse you are; one of our zone leads was happily leading Nazgul at level 117. Getting the assorted quests and wrapper quests for those zones is sometimes complicated but this event is too good to miss even if you don't have access to the highest level quests. Come along for the fun!

    ______________________________ __

If you haven't done RTs recently, here are a couple of pro-tips. Finish the Mirkwood intro or you can't get into Mirk for RTs and have to sit out that zone. There is a questline in Central Gondor that opens those RT quests - you don't need it to come along on the Grand Tour, but you must do it if you want the quests.

More RT protips: Finish enough of the Angmar epic so you can get beyond the watching stones of death (or we can port you across). For the Nazgul and beyond, a medium warsteed with Sacrifice can help you stay on your horse.

I want to thank the wonderful Curator for bringing us this amazing Team Render cloak.

I noticed that she also brought a nice doggie for Team Krabakam.
