My Mini has been known to light fires by yelling at dry wood... She was asked to leave the Golden Wood after that sad incident with the Malbrethil saplings

P.S.: Thanks for the mention in the Beacon, it was unexpected!

He goes to the fireplace and blows on the coals to see if there is any life left from the previous evening's blaze.

If all he gets is a face full of ashes, then he breaks out the tinder-box and screws around for 10 minutes until he gets the blaze going again.

"Waiting for Tea"... his favorite childhood poem.

If it's my hunter or warden they use fire oil. As for LM he obviously doesn't need anything, setting things on fire is how he fights.

How does your character light a fire?

By exclaiming "Aiya Eärendil Elenion Ancalima!"? But seriously, who needs to light a fire. Our fëar carries echoes of the Secret Fire of Ilúvatar.

How does your character light a fire?

With Campfire Kits, from my Cook!
“Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay; Small acts of kindness and love. Why Bilbo Baggins? Perhaps because I am afraid, and he gives me courage.” ~J.R.R. Tolkien

As my Bree-lander Burglar is now got lost again...oops, is travelling through Fangorn, she will certainly NOT light a fire. Trees have ears. And eyes. And limbs.

How does your character light a fire?

While my scholar has been known to produce a firework or two, good old flint and tinder will generally do just fine. She has found her scholar's glass to be an okay stand-in on sunny days - she's even managed it on purpose once!
