Exclamation Fix level 130 gear. T3 is useless

So i was very excited to hear on bullroarer that gear was gonna be buffed from tier 3, i did 3 tier 3 instances now on live and we all got the same gear as bullroarer pretty much. Very weak purple gear. Very VERY dissapointing. We still don't have any 130 gear that's better than anvil. So i went to do CoS t2c and surprise! The gear has been nerfed. Seriously now there is no way to get 130 gear better than anvil. Pls buff the new gear and/or buff CoS gear back up. There's literally nothing to do to gear yourself up.

I was very excited about t3 coming etc. But it ended up in a massive Dissapointment with some gear even being nerfed. There's nothing to do in the game atm other than quests for the 130 cap and no way to gear yourself up better than 120 gear, that sucks pls fix it CoS lv 399+ gear was on such a very sweet spot and actually the only useful gear in the 130cap together with TG jewels. Very balanced and not even that much better than anvil yet it was better. It was on a very good balance. Now it's nerfed..

Haven't tried out pelargir/ered mithrin yet but i hope they are not nerfed otherwise this is such a huge slap in the face for people who wanna gear with instances

Also not really on-topic but the first boss on Filth Well t3 does enormous invisible room wide AoE damage every few secs. It's pretty much impossible to do atm.

We have been reading people's feedback in recent days, and will be making the following changes in an upcoming patch, currently slated for the first half of next week:

    • Gear dropping from Instances will be three item levels higher (408 at Tier 1, 410 at Tier 2, and 412 at Tier 3).
    • Newly crafted rare crafted gear will be three item levels higher (up from 404 to 407).
    • The incomparable crafted shields were inadvertently crafting at item level 410, so for newly crafted shields this will now be item level 412.
    • The final boss chests in the Tier 2 3-player instances will drop rare gear.

This is a step in the right direction Cord. HOWEVER. There is still so much more that needs to be done:

    • The stats on the gear itself NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. Many items are offering unwanted, or unneeded stats for the role in which they are designed. I.E Resistance gear on tanking pieces, when we are so desperately in need of mitigation to reduce our incoming damage, or tactical mitigation on Will based Healing items, when healers are desperately in need of outgoing healing and critical rating, even moreso, physical mitigation & avoidance rating on Will based DPS gear, when they are in need of finesse, mastery & crit.
    • In the vast majority of cases the gear pieces do not offer nearly enough stats to reflect the stat cap inflation, I do not believe an increase of 3 item levels will be enough of an increase to address this.
    • We are still completely missing Jewellery recipes from the "Reclamation of Minas Ithil" barterer, instead he offers the same metalsmith recipes. Again.
    • The incomparable crafted shields require 10 Ithilgalad crafting components, whereas the incomparable off-hands and bows made by Weaponsmiths and Woodworkers, do not. (Tailor and other Metalsmith recipes also require 10 Ithilgalad crafting components for their items).

Will this change affect Shields that have already been crafted?

Thank you for taking onboard feedback and making changes.

    Some important questions:

    1.

Teal Shields currently craft at 410 non crit / 412 crit and in addition to standard materials took 10x [Ithilgalad Crafting Components] box (see below image)
These were not easy to aquire as they are RNG drops from instances. Will these shields that have been crafted automatically be upgraded to 412 & 414 respectively?

Alternatively will we be able to trade our old shields in for 10x [Ithilgalad Crafting Components] so we can re-craft?
Some of us even used perfect crit scrolls (whether hobbit present or store brought) to ensure the item was best possible.

    2.

Gear dropping from instances (T1, T2, T3) that has already acquired from instances will be automatically upgraded?
Time, effort and some very late nights recently....

    3.

"newly crafted rare gear" implies already crafted gear won't be upgraded automatically?
In addition to standard materials each of these crafted pieces used 3x [Ithilharn Shard] which are also a rare drop and expensive on AH.

    4.

Teal Guild Necklaces currently have non crit item level 412 and crit item level 412 (should be 414). Some of us have crafted already.
Any plans for this to be fixed. These also took 10x [Ithilgalad Crafting Components] box and so concerns raised in point 1 apply.

No, this will not retroactively update on already-crafted items.

So in cases where we've used difficult to acquire RNG drops and rare crafting materials to make the newest items, we're now being told, hey, we're giving you a better version of the same item because it was the wrong itemlevel, but we're not going to reimburse you for having crafted it earlier - because you know, we players are being foolish for being under the impression that what you release to us in an expansion/update is in a finalised and ready state.

I really should stop playing until a month after an Expansion release, what a waste of my time.

What about instance drops from T1, T2, T3 please?

We have seen many examples of items (already equipped, in vaults, bags etc) change stats.
In other cases such as relics from Abyss raid we saw a special exchange barter setup for a limited time.

Will these items acquired through running of content be automatically updated to the latest items?
The change is good, but the manner in which it's done (completely nullifying our gearing efforts over last week) is as you can appreciate a bit heavy handed if systems are in place to do something about it...

    Why are you kidding people?
Why can't you do everything right away right away?

People went to instances, collected things, components for crafting, and you make you do everything from scratch in one fell swoop.
Well, you will increase the level of lvl. So then return the components to the craft, the effort spent at least on the craft.

In particular, I'm talking about rare crafts components that rarely fall in instances.

Changing an item level on an item object means processing the whole player inventory database and has some implications. Changing stats by formula change is code based and is comparatively done in a blink of an eye.
Perhaps some craft material could be returned when you deconstruct a lower level crafted item?

I think they could give us back SOME components when we decon a guild item, something like 5 or so

As far as the instances go I did Harrowing twice, Shadow Roost 3 times and Gorthad Nur twice (all T3) and already have everything I want except for the Filth well gloves..so I kinda like the upgraded item levels not being applied retroactively. Gives me something to look forward to when doing the instance and not going in there thinking "yeah I won't get any upgrade anyway"

    You've heard the phrase "throw them a bone" . . . .

    This isn't even a bone, it's ash.

The improvements need improving, and gears already earned/crafted need to be scooped in on the new code or add an exchange barter like you did with the Ered Mithrin Black Book cloak..

    Not so awesome.

Still, I appreciate an honest answer, even when I don't happen to like the content of the answer.

Hopefully this last decison can be taken into consideration again for a possible change to update already crafted-gear, unless some technical issue is preventing it.

I have a question for you. Is it technically possible to change stats on an already acquired item? I have never seen this done. Although, it is clearly possible to change binding status and minimum/maximum levels. Basically, it looks like they do it to take something away from the player, but they don't bother when it's about giving something back or compensation.

Nice, some of us basicly wasted craft components that are not that easly farmable not to mention this change is there only to make us waste more craft components/scrolls as adressing item lvl in instances/other craft gear does nothing when things that drop give resistnace/crit def and bpe. Thanks for this update, amazing what this playerbase will tolerate.

Is there a chance to set final level for crafted gear and dont change it anymore or should we expect more changes? It is really expensive to craft all that gear at the moment. 3 shards are not that easy to get when u need 18 for full set of gear for one spec. Would it not be better to introduce just new recipes for teal gear later and dont change that level anymore?

Is there a chance to make disassembly on crafting gear with a chance to get back a shard? Just like from instance drops now.

There is not enough gear right now to do tier 3 instance, unless there will be teal drops from tier 2. Should we expect some new changes soon so we can get better ratings from gear for t3 instance?

    Step in the right direction...

Please adress what stats are put on certain items. At the moment it feels like devs aren't up to date with what classes and roles NEED on their gear. Especially with a bump in caps of this size
Aernur - Captain Main, Inaethir - Lore-master, Inathir - Rune-keeper, Aerdar- Hunter, Phatso - Burglar, Phatsam- Minstrel

I'd say they havent been up to date since Mordor came out 2017. Tanks slot will-earrings, cloak for more tac-mit.. RK's get agi-brace for more finesse and crit if i remember correct... etc etc

Any chance you adress this?At least for shileds considering one needs to farm 30 40 instances probably if not more to get 10 ingredients?

To me this is the main reason gear is useless. You got priorities on every role and there's no point on having avoids, resistance for a tank until mitigations are sorted. Same for healers, need lots of out. Heal and critical rating. Also morale. Give classes the right stats for a role and gear is ok.

Btw I think incomparable gear should only drop in raid so there's a true gearing process which makes a difference and not just few iLvl increase.
