The Depths of Kidzul Kalah - New Instance

Just thought I might try this new instance but it is greyed-out on the instance list.

Is there a discovery deed or something before you can do this instance.

If so where do we go?

    There is a discovery deed.

If you are caught up quest wise, there are several questlines that take you to the entrance.

If you are still questing, the entrance is at the base of Kidzul-Kalah, which is a dwarf ruin located at the west side of the lake above the Gladden Falls in the Vales of Anduin.

I have done all the quests available including all the new ones up in the dwarf ruins.

Do you have the exact or even approximate coordinates or perhaps just a description e.g. is it inside the ruins or do you find it outside via the lake etc.

Its outside of the ruin, at the base of the ruin at the edge of the lake. There was a quest that tells you to check out the mine, but when you get close it says something is watching you.

If you are caught up quest wise check with Gandalf, he should have a fellowship quest that tells you to talk to Elrond, Glorfindel and the Maiden right outside the entrance.

Don't know if you figured out the problem, but mine was greyed out in the Instance finder thing also. Then I noticed the NPC there still had a ring, and checked, they had a 'travel now' button. Took the quests for the instance and then traveled via the NPC. The 'Launch" button in the instance finder was still grey.

Maybe you have to travel thru the NPC at first? Or always? Not sure! Did the thing solo and had to log for now.

    Good luck!

Elrond & Glorfindel Reluctant to Follow in Solo Version

I ran through the solo version last night and repeatedly had the same issue. It was mainly Elrond that didn't want to follow and he would just get hooked up on obstacles further back in the zone. Re-summoning had no effect whatsoever.

I was able to beat the final boss without Elrond's help & buffs. Not too difficult but certainly more of a challenge than other solo bosses who are normally a faceroll. I am not sure whether this is because the final boss is actually inherently more difficult or whether Elrond's contribution really does make a significant difference. I should really have checked my buff bar and combat log to understand what he was doing...………..maybe next time!

As you loose contact dropping down to the lower level you should select the npc icon and do a right click dismiss. Then you can summon them back on flat ground. Can't summon whilst they are still in the instance. Having sections that require you to drop to a lower part (to prevent going back up?) is maybe the issue.

Discovery: There is a huge waterfall feeding the lake (mere) and the entrance is next to where the water "lands".

Glorfindel however seems like a fair tank with some threat copy skill.

Would have liked a T2 and 3 solo version that gave up some reward other than coin.

Final chest is in a room beyond the final encounter, one might travel out and not see it.

Beat it and left instance with yellow eye over head, no damage or disease, just the eye icon. Seems to be a bug, saw couple other people with it too.

Solo NPC's were wonky for sure, lost Elrond on multiple occasions.

What did you expect? The guy spent past 10 years cooped up in a library...

I've run the solo version once. I also had problems with Elrond and Glorfindel getting stuck on/behind obstacles in various places. The summon option did not bring them to me until I back-tracked, found the stuck NPC and dismissed them, then the summon would work.

In the future, when you have to deal with stuck npcs like that, no need to backtrack, use "/pet releaseall" command and resummon. If you try to summon them while they are stuck and the game deems they're close enough, it won't bring them to you, so you need to dismiss.

It needed more time in testing for sure. It's a buggy mess on all 3 sizes

I'm not feeling the status having such iconic figures considered mere "pets". By default I had gotten up tooltips for each of them so it was those that I could select for dismissal. It's second nature for me in a new place on day one. Can never be sure it isn't a book four divine wind Legolas scenario ahead.

    There are some bugs:

    - The NPCs stuck very often and you can't resummon them until you went back (a command should not be part of a functional game - the summon item should release and summon them)
    - There are no windows with morale of all three npcs (instead you click on them), from time to time they die and if the maid die, the instance resets and you have no idea why
    - The instance resets in solo mode when you die
    - The two npcs stuck on almost every wall

There are more bugs in the Vales:

    - There are no icons for the boat stable master
    - In the german version the text "this is a repeatable quest you have never completed" is shown on ALL repeatable quests. It doesnt matter if you have previously completed the quest or not
    - There is no voice over for any NPC in the vales in the german version
    - There is voice from the pages in the vales as well

Iconic or not, all are "pets" in the hands of Eru ^^ (but I get where you're coming from ) Wasn't really commenting on the state of the instance, but pathing of NPCs has always been buggy, this is not an exception, so could be a useful advice for some.

Yes, I nearly missed that. Was just going to "leave instance" after I'd talked to Elrond and the maid. Luckily, curiosity got the better of me when I spotted that gate at the back.

Sadly I parked the LM in 2008, he will likely have the /pet releaseall on the skill bar somewhere. Pet classes never worked for me in Lotro after quite enjoying Hunter tracking down specific pets to tame in another game.

Yeah, me too. A hidden treasure chest is of course a nice touch but I'm so used to finding those by spamming Del in most cases that my first thought was "how stingy".

While Elrond didn't bug on me, he seems way too sensitive to what player does and starts running around at the smallest movement.

Cooped up in a Library for years, you'd have the jitters.

It must be embarrassing for SSG to be forced to release content in this condition.

This might be the only instance where bug fixing wouldn't have changed my experience at all. I hated the lack of a story in here, the re-used watcher sound effects, the re-used concepts. Fighting the same boring boss four? times with barely any changes in the fight. The loot I did get was for my class but designed by someone who has never played my class. 200 embers.

Even brand new content lately ends up in some casino currency, I'm not feeling like doing it over and over again until what, I can barter for some gloves I'll delete in three months tops? It's a very grindy and boring series of systems these days.

When someone loots a 'rare' item in a new instance they paid for, it should be a real character changing experience to equip them and check the stats and see the cosmetics. Instead we're always doing arithmetic. Oh nice, 9 percent towards my next pair of ice themed boots.

Tried the solo version tonight... yeah buggy. E and G got struck on an upper level, had to solo the final fight. Got this yellow eye over me that would not go away even after leaving instance.

For those wondering, the instance entrance is at [1.0N, 67.8W].
