    Shirefest 2019 Band Sign Ups

Shirefest 2019 will be held at the Methel-stage on Crickhollow July 5th-7th and hosted by Second Breakfast!!!
Bands should prepare sets of 50-55 minutes, as well as one or two encores that you can play if time allows.
We're listing some additional times which will not be on the final schedule, but we want to know if there's any demand for earlier or later times each day.
We know that some of you may need to discuss with bandmates or could have something unexpected pop up over the next two months,
so please revisit this thread or contact Duidhrastir or Luventhariel right away if anything changes with your availability.

The Methel Stage is just some wood, cut and nailed together, and painted. It is nothing without the performers who stand on it and play.

You're holding this at the same time that the Weatherstock Concert Series happens every year? That's gonna make things awkward.

A quick look at past years on lotroartists.com shows the Weatherstock Concert Series consistently being held in early July and Shirefest being held in June.

What (or who) inspired you to move your own event up by several weeks to create this conflict? This is poorly planned out, to say the least. Hopefully it doesn't create any bad feelings.

Respectfully, "awkward", "consistently", "conflict", "poorly", and "bad" are words I would not use.

Shirefest and Winterfest have always been meant to be complimentary towards Weatherstock and Winterstock, not meant as competition.
Shirefest has in the past been as late as August and as early as June.
We have never "claimed" a particular weekend, let alone "claimed" an entire month, and we're sure that LMB is of a like mind.
Several of us scoured every single website for any information on anything at all involving Weatherstock, from here to LMB's site, the Weatherstock site, Lotroartists, even reddit, finding not even a whisper.
We did understand that there was a chance that there may be an overlap with the Concert Series, and that is why our schedule is about as lax as we can make it, to allow bands to play both if they desire. We hope that every band that wants to play both could, with a little scheduling magic.

Shirefest is a Crickhollow event, open to all, but located on Crickhollow, and sponsored by a Crickhollow kinship.
We know that some bands do come from Landroval to play here as they come from many servers, but most are from Crickhollow, and many do not play Weatherstock.
We also are very aware of the history of Weatherstock, and the history of Second Breakfast, which is intertwined with the history of LMB...if LMB is Happy Days, then we are Laverne and Shirley.
Many of us are on both shows...

This year, we lost Rosalie, who helped create Second Breakfast, who did create Shirefest, who became the soul of Second Breakfast, and a friend to many, many musicians over the years. This year's Shirefest is dedicated to Rosalie Rumble, and is special to everyone on Crickhollow who knew her. We did not plunk it right on top of Weatherstock proper. But we did fully intend to use the extended 4th of July weekend to be able to attract as many players as possible, to make this event particularly special. =)

I love Shirefest and I am sure that Rosalie would be glad to see you continuing her tradition. Brava Luventhariel!

Even knowing that Rosalie would not be with us much longer, hearing of her passing was still a sorrowful day. I was so glad that I got the chance to attend her final party.
