    Crafting lost appeal

With adding crafting to the rep grind in the new area I no longer enjoy crafting at all. What is the reason to put all the recipes on vendors that you need kindred with the area to buy and make?

Yes, that was pretty bad as well, Crafting used to be one of my favorite aspects of the game.

I gave up on most crafting after Lothlorien.. Crafting pre-moria was awesome.. wish they would have stuck with it.. but now its been monetized.. I have farmed and farmed and farmed scroll cases.. and will never complete all my recipes, unless i spend real dollars & I have guilded crafters for every craft :/

    Consignment Vendors!

I'll try this again only because it was such an awesome system... Consignment Vendors need to be added that controls the market value of items... I'll use recipes for and example. I have one mule that the storage is maxed out of recipes... I gave up on crafting long ago and have had a little success selling them at the auction but consignment vendor would be so much more fun... How does it work? I go to an area that would be a normal location for a vendor and find one that sells recipes... Maybe a vendor for each type of craft... I find that I'm the first to "consign" my recipe and set a price and I stack all my recipes/scrolls of like on this one... Next person shows up that wants to sell the same recipe and sets a price a little lower or maybe higher if they want or they can just stack them on top of mine... When someone comes to buy they choose how many they want (crafting resources would of been better example) and buy as many as the want ( say 100) using a fair but system I would get a percentage of the sale...
When it comes to selling buying crafting resources it makes for a much more interesting game.

For the Doomfold crafting barters? That would be awesome!

I had given up this week in frustration after buying reputation boosts and grinding my jeweler up through "friend". When the superior recipes didn't become available, I searched online and found out they were "kindred". I was so sad and angry! The only way I can get armor and jewelry for my 4 girls in Mordor is to buy ONE dang Superior Jewelry recipe and make massive amounts of it and deconstruct it into motes. Then I would trade the motes for the Level 112 armor and jewlery in Udun.

I have 4 girls questing in Mordor, all 108-112, and I need a good 25+ recipes. I HAD planned on buying all the recipes for the armor and all the jewlery, but I only have enough signets to buy 2 superior recipes ( when I have the ridiculous reputation) or 6 regular Doomfold ones now. Isn't that horrible?! My "Plan B" evolved into the one mentioned above: make hundreds of the Superior Doomfold necklaces, deconstruct them into 100 motes a piece, and barter for my stuff, head to toe.

Even when I have the 4 girls at level 115, I still would be way short of the signets needed to buy the recipes for the level 115 crafted items, so I gave up with plan A If "Ally" is all I need for the superior recipes, then I won't give up on Plan B. Is it truly ally reputation now for those recipes?

Sigh...I got to ally and then bought more reputation boosts and got to Kindred. I bought the one superior recipe for 75 signets and found out then that each basic recipe requires:

One fragment of gorgoroth dungeons- which sometimes drops from the boss of a 3 man or 6 man instance.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I spent 2000 LP for help with my reputation to get it to Kindred, I spent days questing, I stockpiled ore, and I spent 75 precious signets on a recipe THAT I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO MAKE?

I feel so foolish for wasting my time and points and signets.

You ever looked at the wiki?

Only crafted gear you can ash is that which needs a rare. And not all kinds either.

Gorgoroth fragments were actually common as dirt during Mordor endgame, since gear they yield is not all that awesome. You could get them for like 15-20 gold on AH and after U23 price went down as low as 5g.

My experience doing Mordor, just Udun yielded enough signets to get some recipes, and I hit kindred midway through Lhingris, and got most recipes for my various craft alts. Btw, you can buy rep accelerators at skirmish camps for marks/meds. If you partook in recent Omens event, you should have tons of those.

At least Doomfold offered a basic set of pretty decent gear that needed no rares (ilvl 323/326).
Ironfold not only requires high rep, but all recipes also take the rare shards.

I just looked at those recipes: a shard AND a fragment from an instance. Nope. I'm gonna live and die in my level 115 crafted basic armor.
