Lotroclient.exe can't be patched, altered or deleted

Last night I was playing just fine, today I can't patch LOTRO because it's telling me that lotroclient.exe can't be patched, access is denied. No problem, I thought, I'll just go and run it as an administrator. Nope, still denied. Okay, I'll just delete it and download a new one. Only even with admin privileges I can't get rid of the thing. I can't uninstall the game. I can't repair the game. I can't do anything with the game. it's just sitting there taunting me as it loops yet another cycle of repair downloading because lotroclient.exe is locked. Suggestions or help are deeply appreciated.

Open up your task manager and look for lotroclient.exe running. If a previous session of LOTRO has locked up and is running in the background you will get these errors.

This happened after I booted my computer up and clicked the LOTRO icon. There was no previous session.
