Thread: PvP Activity?

    PvP Activity?

Because Gladden's PvP seems to be at death's door most of the times I've logged in, I've been considering transferring my warg to Arkenstone (which, I've heard, is where Gladden's PvP went after the servers merged).

I love this game's PvP, but I also love the Gladden server. I've been playing on it for over a decade. So I just wanted to see if Gladden is as dead as it seems, or if I've just been playing at the wrong times.
To clarify, I'm not expecting constant Raid vs. Raid fights; I've always preferred small group action anyway. But so far, I have yet to see an equal number of players on both sides at once, even on the weekends.
Sometimes there will be a full group on one side with 2-3 people to oppose them, but never anything close to an even fight except for 1v1's.

So all I want to know is: is this the status quo for Gladden's Ettenmoors?

My thanks in advance for any replies, in case I don't get a chance to respond.

Even tho Arkenstone is the last US server left that has bodies in the moors there isn't much point, 24/7 gv camp with maybe 10% open field fights, freeps don't leave gv 1 shotters, creeps don't leave gv , there is no point anymore. If you creep you need a ranged dps to get any infamy, 1v1s is moslty dead also. If you enjoy camps and shuffles then sure.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll certainly keep that in mind before I come to a decision.

There are a fair number of GV camps. In truth, it's been fairly constant up until very recently. However, there are a lot of freeps that you see well away from GV. And the open-field action for small group or soloing isn't really bad. As a matter of fact, on good nights, I run into a number of BAs, wargs and reavers that are running solo as well. We have some excellent open-field fights. Freeps with full raid gear are actually pretty OP now, and there are a fair number of them out there now. I hope you come to Arkenstone.......You'll certainly find some familiar faces from Gladden here!

P.S. If your warg likes 1v1s, you should definitely get to know my RK... we'll have plenty of them

    Malakorou - Rank 10 Defiler

Agreed. Currently freeps on Ark are camped at GV most of the time with some shuffles between TR/GV depending on numbers of each side. Creeps are at GV because for the most part it's the only place on the map they can get infamy. There are a number of factors contributing to the freeps not leaving GV.

    1. Too many freeps with egos who will not group up unless they're kin mates, friends, or considered elite. So you may see a fraid worth of freeps at GV but 99% chance they are not grouped and lack any kind of coordination.
    2. No freep leaders or the leaders fit into the above mentioned category.
    3. Forget about solo freeps outside of GV without a group or duo with a healer. A solo freep is dead without heals just running through BA traps. A solo freep without heals is dead from barrage. A solo freep is often dead from barrage even at GV with the one shoters, even with heals in some cases. Back to GV they go. Exception is Nouri/Casinoari who never leads, groups, or acts like a freep and who sits on a horse just watching fights. He is more a creep than freep and the creeps leave him alone.
    4. Zergs/warg packs. How many times do you expect a solo freep to venture out only to get zerged or pounced on by a warg pack? Back to GV they go.
    5. 25% are spies and sit there never contributing to action in the moors

I wouldn't say a LOT of freeps can be found away from GV unless they're grouped or duoing (such as the reformed hunter/RK combo) which goes back to the above mentioned issues on freepside. Open field is fine for well geared and coordinated freeps but I wouldn't say this is true for soloing. Of course you run into solo creeps...they're likely not going to die from a solo freep (unless it's a burg or stealthed hunter) and they can quickly map back to GTR or where ever the action is if they do. Any solo freep with full raid gear is still dying REALLY fast. You can find plenty of them within range of GV one shots as well. I would say freeps with full raid gear are currently only OP given they are in a group/fraid with a good mix of classes and skilled players. Even this may not be the case unless said freeps have multiple skirmish essences per toon, max rotations with animation cutting, etc. Definitely not the majority of freeps in the moors. In addition to full Anvil raid gear I noticed Nouri/Casinoari has at least 4 Omens skirmishers essences and a Helegrod essence. Most of the freeps I've seen out in the Moors still don't have Anvil gear or more than 1 Omen/Helegrod essence.

I don't really want to get into the balance of the moors other than my thoughts expressed above. I play both creep and freep and don't take sides but I usually play the side I feel is more challenged. So for the creeps wondering why the freeps are not pushing out from GV, these are some of the reasons. To my very first point, I challenge good leaders to form groups/fraids and help the freeps push out from GV. Let's see what can be done, even without the best gear in the game. And if you're on creep side and see a GV camp, I challenge you to switch sides and experience it first hand and understand why before you complain about it in OOC.
