Snowbeasts are always sleeping because that's their nature -- all of the Yule partygoers are encroaching on their habitat and if we're not careful they'll become extinct!!

Why do you think the snow beasts in Frostbluff are always trying to sleep?

They are protesting because they are ignored all year long except for Yule

So, we all know it's cold outside during winter and that alone is a good reason to sleep. Many a hobbit and other fellows of middle earth stave off this want to sleep by attending winter festivities and sharing good times with a meal or a mug of drink, snow beast it seems are solitary animals and have no need to socialize. Now to the question at hand, Have you noticed that the keg needs to be replenished often? there you have it, the snow beasts being of large size needs much more ale than the average hobbit and dwarves and after a more than average amount of ale need a nap of more than average time.

They are not sleeping but trying to finish a poem for their own Poet's Festival but all those folks cheering at them constantly disturb them.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.

Elusive Snow-beasts are found wandering the Bruinen Source West in the Misty Mountains, the lucky ones migrated to Frostbluff.

They are actually trying to hibernate. At this rate, they'll be deep in sleep debt when Spring rolls around...
