Make the launcher download only the screens in the chosen language

For whatever reasons, the initial checking for loading screens takes a few seconds, and I wonder why also german and french screens are downloaded when my client is set to english.

TLDR: pls change the launcher so it only loads the files needed.

Reason being is that it is a lot simpler to just download the lot, and they wouldn't have to check first which languages you want them in. Considering the small size of them, and the speed of internet these days.... it MIGHT actually take longer to first check: what language are you?, and then downloading that language only.

Of course I can be an easy talker with my 1 Gbit/s fiber, I don't even NOTICE that splash screens are downloaded, because it is done in like 5 seconds tops total...

The catch seems to be that the system doesn't always run this script correctly. For me, as long as my userpreferences.ini file isn't borked, once downloaded, the system just runs through the file list. That takes about 6 seconds. Anything that happens to the packet flow will make the launcher stop. That, of course, does not mean that a file was downloaded, just that the script had to run an "If then else" it may not normally do.

You can make the launcher skip downloading all those by doing this. Note that you won't get new screens in game if you do this. For me this is a small price to pay for launcher going up so fast.

Right click Lotro icon on your desktop, click properties and add " -nosplash -skiprawdownload" (without the quotes) after the line in "Target" field.
For me that line looks like this: D:\Games\LOTRO\LotroLauncher.e xe -nosplash -skiprawdownload
Also, it might be set to TurbineLauncher.exe, change that to LotroLauncher.exe or the -nosplash -skiprawdownload won't work.

Thank you very much, that did the trick!

For me, each file takes one second, so 3 languages, 10 files each = 30 seconds unnecessary delay.
I assume something is wrong in comparing timestamps or whatever, and they are downloaded again each time - my Internet connection with 50mbit is fast enough otherwise.
