First of all You claim, in Your video, it will NOT be pay to win. How do You know that ??? Is it designed and complete already ??? Are You in some Alpha or Beta or have some inside corporate information as to how it will be monetized ???

All it says in the article is that they develop Free To Play games and so is LoTRO. Maybe You go off of what WarFrame is but many companies have different designs for different games they develop or distribute. So just because one of their games is one way, does not mean all other will be like that. As far as Warframe goes, I quote: "The game is supported by microtransactions that allow players to purchase various in-game items that are otherwise available through grinding", so no real difference there.

Warframe is also not specifically an mmo RPG. It is, and I quote: "Warframe is a free-to-play cooperative third-person shooter" and "The game includes elements of shooting and melee games, parkour, and role-playing games to allow players to advance their Tenno character with improved gear".

Acctually we don't even know what the MMO part really means. LOL and DOTA2 are MMO's, so are COD, CS GO, Overwatch and GTA5 etc. I also quote: "Missions can be played alone or with up to four players in a player versus environment cooperative manner." So at least it seems Warframe is not even an MMO in the same sense that LoTRO is. So it can be totally different from an MMO RPG like LoTRO. We do NOT know yet.

That does not mean their LoTR MMO won't be RPG and in a style of BDO with action combat or like LoTRO/WoW etc with tab target, as I said earlier one game can be one thing, another something else, even from, the same company. However I don't think that article anwyhere stated it would be an mmo RPG. Maybe other articles do ??? Otherwise how can we know what it will be like ???

It doesn't say anything about specifying that it their own document either: http://www.files.services/files/359/...1859121_en.pdf

All it says is MMO and PC/Console games.

I quote: "Athlon Games is partnering with Middle-earth Enterprises, to develop and publish a free-to play massively multiplayer online video game based on The Lord of the Rings, the landmark fantasy literary work of J.R.R. Tolkien."

"The Group is principally engaged in the development and publishing of online multiplayer PC/console video games."

My quotes refer to the article by:

    MMO RPG: https://www.mmorpg.com/news/middle-e...mmo-1000049669

    Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warframe

    And Athlons own document: http://www.files.services/files/359/...1859121_en.pdf

It might be an MMO RPG like WoW/LoTRO etc, but also it might NOT be. So maybe we should NOT jump to conclusions just yet ??? Just saying.

Also with the reaction of SOME, it kind of looks like there is no point for SSG to even try to cater to them and their playstyle at all then, as it seems they are set on leaving LoTRO as soon as new shinie game is introduced. So they risk losing others by catering to SOME that will probably end up leaving LoTRO anyway.

My bet is it will have a better engine, better performance and looks but will be less lore-friendly, will be not as complex as lotro is/was and will not be a proper old school mmo. IMO lotro probably had one of the best MMO experience one could wish for with its peak time at lvl 65-75. Most complexity of mechanics, more class variation and balance, most encouraged group play, best content design, really cool middle earth atmosphere... If SSG take those things back, it will probably not suffer anything from the new game. I've tried different MMO and in this game I'd say this game is the one in which you have to learn most to play it properly and clear content, and the trend nowadays is to make simple action games for the casuals and easy-relaxed players to enjoy, I bet most MMO players from other games would struggle so bad in this game if they never played it before.
Still game performance is pretty bad nowadays, and that game is in development, the chances this game is still alive when new lotr MMO releases are thin.

Why is this thread on the BR testing subforum? There is already a discussion going on in "General Discussion" where things like this are grouped with.

This is not relevant to Bullroarer, and there are already several other threads discussing this. Closing.
