    Question Problem with Account Creation

    Yesterday I made a new account. I made it so I can invite my alts into a kin I made.
    I received an email from SSG saying Welcome, etc. etc. (by the way, some links in that email are old Turbine links and don't work).
    Now, when I try to log into that account all I get is the message saying my Name/password is wrong. I know it's not wrong because I wrote it down when I made the account.
    Is this something new to discourage gold spammers making accounts? Is there something else I need to do before I can log into that account?

    Someone on Reddit very recently was having the same problem, made a new account and couldn't log in, was getting the same message.

    It sure sounds like something's wrong somewhere and needs to be looked at.

    Unhappy Same problem !

    Made a new account yesterday. Did not get anything from SSG. Can't log into this website or the game.

    Thought I had done something wrong so made a second account. Very careful about name, password, e-mail, etc. Still can not log in on the site or into game.

    Hopefully they will get this fixed when they are back at work on Monday.

    *sigh’^ What is it with Turbine/SSG never being able to run their website? They’ve had issues ever since the 3 year long forum beta.

    Update - just received the e-mails from SSG/Turbine but still no luck logging in on either the website or the game.

    Odd. I just created an account associated with a new gmail email address. Received the email after a few minutes, and logged into the game.

    Way back in the day when I was testing multiboxing, I seem to recall that there was some oddness as I created the accounts. Like, it wouldn't allow the use of special characters in the username (But it wouldn't tell you that! It would accept them but just fail to work!). I wish I could remember the details!

    To those affected, I'd try to create an account with no spaces, dots, or any other punctuation, and make sure the password is complex but doesn't get too crazy (especially at the beginning or end with special characters).

    Edit: A memory? Maybe it's that it truncates passwords when the account is created? So you need to start working backwards and shortening your password by a character each time (use notepad on your computer to make this easier). Gah! I don't recall if that was it. I just remember it was something!

    Did you use diacritics in the account name, or password? Some people found that a non-standard character can block the access to an account, especially if the password is starting with one.

    We had an issue that we investigated over the weekend that prevented people from creating new accounts. We were able to resolve the issue by mid-afternoon Eastern, so things should now be resolved.

    Both the LotRO AND the DDO Steam forums were full of people not being able to create accounts, hopefully your LotRO fix carried over to the DDO side too.

    Are you saying to try making another new account or the one I already made should work? If the latter, it doesn't.

    10:00 om est - still can not log into the new accounts in game or on this website.

    If I try to log onto the forums with the new account, I get the message saying "We are experiencing technical difficulties, please try again later"
    Still can't log into the game with the new account either.

    Almost 10:30 pm est on Monday. I still can not log in on the site or in game with either of the new accounts I created on Saturday.

    This is getting very frustrating.

    Any word on this problem?

    It is now Wednesday at 12:30 pm est and I still have the two new accounts that I can not log in. I tried recreating them but of course that doesn't work since the name and e-mail are already recorded as being in use. I have not tried creating another account as that entails creating another e-mail address.

    I am just wondering if we could get an update on the situation, please.

    If you created a new game account during the window where this issue was happening (Thursday, August 9th from around Noon Eastern to Saturday, August 11th at around Noon Eastern), and still can't access the game, get in touch with Account Support for help: https://help.standingstonegames.com/...s/requests/new CS should be able to assist.
