The #1 reason pvp died was the lag. The #1A reason it died was because the original design was pecked away at bit by bit until it was no longer the same game.

You pop up at the spawn point and you go somewhere else, only to be met with the same fate. Eventually you and your friends say screw it and log.

On the flip side you log in as creep. You're rank 0 and you've been told you need some maps. A small group agrees to help you out and you go off to do some mindless questing. Bing, bang, boom, an 18 man fraid comes and ruins your day. Rinse, repeat. To add insult to injury the vastly outnumbering groups have a few of them that feel the need to cj you as if it were some kind of triumph. You decide the only solution is to join one of those fraids/craids, but now you're ridiculed for being a raid baby. Check the forums and you find all these posts complaining that there aren't any small groups. LOL, that's funny. God forbid you post that you don't appreciate getting jumped by such a large group and a few douches tell you to "kill yourself" or "get cancer and die."

I've witnessed this chain of events many, many, many times over the years. Do you think any of that is going to bolster the community? Add the fact that after HD there was a great exodus of players, and now you're left with what you have. A dead zone with only a scant amount of players hanging on to nothing. Bitterness is the people that won't just give up the ghost and go play something else.

    Okay then...let's try again.

Acting high and mighty yet doing the same makes you look a ######.
PVP was ruined by ALL who had their fingers in it, and now new people (both freeps and creeps) suffer for it.

I mean, come on, writing a wall of text isn't gonna dig you out of any ditches...much less one you've dug out yourself.
Critism is more than welcome, however, the way Amennator did it is wrong and should not be held as valid. Saying people are toxic would've proven the (obviously clear) point, but then also doubling down by saying how they (Amennator) weren't at fault, while displaying such manners here? Seriously? Come on...

For good pvps sake both burglar and warg should be about worst class to play pvp. Game should heavily favour visible players. Especially melee ones.
Wow I agree. Lag is bad, but stealth combined with insane damage is a show stopper. Looking for a class to play in the moors with low damage, high survivability (good for long fights) and a highly visible melee class? Play a guard

Guards in Moors don't do damage. They waste time.

It was a joke. So I guess over your head.

Ammentator wasn't attacking anyone personally and was using that language to demonstrate the vileness with which he was treated so again over your head.

    Thats two for two.

If you all can be bothered and don't mind. Log on and get a total head count during the prime time hours and post them here.

Only joke here is you using Disorientation on a Guard.

    Way to change the subject.

Maybe people will see Ammentator's point. Thanks for helping him make it.

And hopefully realise that he, like many on this forum, are full of irony and should not be taken seriously.

He was honestly conveying his frustration with the community in a genuine way that would help people understand the problem.
He could have called people out by name and didn't, thus showing some restraint.

Calling out the community for toxicity and in the same paragraph saying they are a festering pile of human refuse, refering to their talks and acts as cancer and as a final nail the coffin, blaiming only the loudest of PVPers for it's current state, rather than SSG cause:
    a) balance nonsense which promotes this zerg, shuffle fiesta for ez comms
    b) not employing enough interns to cull the loudmouth

Players should act better, but in case that fails, SSG is supposed to step up. Neither work.

I am as well disappoited, annoyed, angered, saddened and embittered by the current state of not just PVP, but the game in general, still I'd never go his/hers/its route of conveying my emotions and then acting like I'm better.

If you cannot see the irony in his own writings, well...good luck to you both.

I'm not at fault, because I never treated people like garbage the whole time I played Lotro. I didn't go out of my way to put people down and make them feel as if they were inferior. I never told anyone to commit suicide because they lost a 1v1. I never posted wall upon wall of scat porn. Something some members of this community have done. It's probably not a coincidence that they were pvpers.

I was never personally treated that way, but it was my observation of how a contingent of the pvp community acted. I got to rank 10 on my champ and stopped going to the moors because I got fed up with the attitude and behavior. If the community had been more inclusive then perhaps SSG would have had a reason to make meaningful balance passes. However, if you go into the bathroom and see a steaming pile in the toilet your first reaction would be to flush. It would not be saving it for all to enjoy and witness.
