Bullroarer Update 21.3 - Beta #4 - Preview and Release Notes

Welcome to our fourth open preview of Update 21.3. These notes are for Bullroarer, released on Friday November 17th. Both the notes and the update are a work in progress, so you should expect things will change over time. We look forward to hearing your feedback and receiving your bug reports. The server is expected to remain available through noon (server time) Tuesday 11/21. Please note that there will NOT be a Bullroarer preview during Thanksgiving next weekend.

Please feel free to copy your current live character to Bullroarer using the LIVE transfer wizard. Any characters created or copied over the last three weekends remain intact. Please remember that deleting a character will not allow you to re-copy from live worlds.

    Focus for this Beta:
Please join us this weekend and provide feedback on The Abyss of Mordath Raid. Difficulty / balance feedback for all three bosses as well as the intermediate trash on tier 1 and tier 2 would be greatly appreciated. Please note that the raid rewards structure has changed since last weekend and we would love your feedback on the new rewards, chest time locks and Fellowship Tradeable tech.

    Known Issues:
    • On test worlds only, copies of the first and second boss chests have been placed near the start of the raid. This will allow you to experiment with the new raid lock mechanics... you may choose to loot these early chest copies, at which point you should be unable to loot the same chests again (either there or after boss defeat) until after the lock resets. Chest locks should be visible with the player "/raid locks" command.
    • It appears that the second boss in The Abyss of Mordath may be getting stuck at the end of the combat, preventing further progress.
    • Items (such as rare legendary items) that adjust based on the level of the monster that drops, them will not properly adjust their item level or minimum equip level when coming from pending loot. If you enable the "always loot all" option you will not encounter this issue.
    • The Master of Mordor Lore and High-enchanter barter vendors were not updated in time for the current build. Therefore the Masters of Mordor Lore still offer raid items for tokens that no longer drop from raid chests. Additionally, the High-enchanter still offers items that will be moved to the Masters of Mordor Lore and locked behind the tier 2 raid completion deed.
    • Any "of the Abyss" set bonus helms acquired during previous Bullroarer sessions are no longer relevant (and no longer have set bonuses). This is intentional. The set bonus helms are now crafted items.
    • A small selection of gear from the Gorgoroth instances (Expeditions Vanguard cloak & bracelet, Mordor's Bane necklace & shoulders) are broken and missing in this particular build.

    New in this build:
    • Abyss of Mordath - The method and quality of loot awarded by the raid has been adjusted.
      • Incomparable set gear will drop from raid chests (in a picker box so you can select the set piece right for your character). This incomparable gear will be item level 345, and will have a chance to receive bonus item levels when it comes out of the box.
      • The Incomparable set gear helms, incomparable pocket items, and incomparable necklaces will be craftable items, and will require a fragment of the abyss crafting component from the raid.
      • An Incomparable item level 345 cloak will drop from raid chests.
      • Incomparable item level 345 Grand Abyssal Runes will drop from raid chests.
      • Other incomparable pieces from the raid (essences, other jewellery) and all rare gear from the raid will be item level 337.
      • Once you have completed the Tier 2 raid deed, you will be able to barter for all of the incomparable raid gear on the Masters of Mordor Lore. This allows you to use Ash of Gorgorth to barter for pieces that just haven't dropped for you in the raid. The bartered gear does not have a chance to receive bonus item levels. Note that npcs in this current build do not yet include this change.
      • Item level 337 incomparable armour (without set bonuses, not including the helm), rings, earrings, bracelets, offhands, and essences will be available in Gorgoroth lootboxes.
      • Rare item level 337 gear of all types will be available in the raid, in Gorgoroth lootboxes, and for barter with no restrictions.

    • The featured instance rotation has been updated to feature a new selection of instances. 'The Dome of Stars' replaces 'Lost Temple', 'Great Barrow - The Maze' replaces 'Sammath Gul', 'Fornost Wraith of Fire' replaces 'Dungeons of Dol Guldur', 'Sunken Labyrinth' replaces 'Halls of Night', 'The Ruined City' replaces 'StoneHeight', and 'The Battle for Erebor' replaces 'Barad Guldur'.
    • Preview - Malleable Shadow Essences are now unbound and fully tradable.
    • Naerband and Seregost instance chests now have a 1-day lock on them. Equipment drop rates for these chests have also been increased substantially.
    • The Camp of the Host milestone skill now has its own icon.
    • Gorgoroth Instances - 'of the Wyrm' and 'of the Abyss' shields have an updated appearance.
    • Item levels in pending loot reflect the actual level of the item when it is obtained (except that item level adjustments are currently broken for some items coming from pending loot).
    • A Reflecting Pool for the Wastes has been added to Haerondir, allowing you to replay many instances from that region.
    • A Reflecting Pool for Gorgoroth has been added near the Ruins of Dingarth, allowing you to replay many instances from that region.
    • The Gorgorth Daily Expedition quests now award 2 Slivers of Black Steel each so that you can earn Black Steel Keys equally from any daily expedition.
    • Mounted combat 2-handed combat animations have been adjusted to reduce clipping through the character avatar.

    Notes:
    • To enter the new Raid, you will need to Discover the Abyss of Mordath. Find the door in the Chamber of the Watchers in the lower levels of Barad-dur (Western edge of the Barad-dur map on the lower corridor branching).
    • Abyss of Mordath - The new raid uses a new raid lock technology that separates weekly raid quest progress from raid chest looting. There are weekly 'The Abyss of Mordath (Tier X)' quests. The state of that quest (current objective) will allow you (and your raid group) to skip past the the bosses defeated by the first member of the party to cross the line at the beginning of the instance. Simply use the banner pole.
    • Instance chests can now drop items that are "Fellowship Tradeable". These items can be freely traded amongst fellowship / raid members that were present in the instance space when the chest was created, until the Fellowship Tradeable timer expires. These items will list a "Item binds in:" timer in their tooltip. These items cannot be mailed or auctioned. These items cannot be stacked until the Fellowship Tradeable timer expires. Currently only The Abyss of Mordath chests use this new tech.
    • Preview - PvMP: Many Monster Player stats and attributes have been adjusted as a start to achieving better balance in the Ettenmoors and Osgiliath. THIS WORK IS NOT DONE and we welcome continued feedback!
    • The npc "Dust" in the Eyes & Guard tavern stairwell offers a quest that rewards Ash of Gorgoroth.
    • Eyes & Guard tavern: Vastin's Mordor Relics T1 box now has Rare and Incomparable Vanguard Runes of Force, Healing, and Power.
    • Preview - Eyes & Guard: 'Cursed' gear in the "Mordor I <armour type> Abyssal" & "Mordor I <armour type> Wyrm" boxes available from Vastin has been replaced with non-cursed pieces.
    • Eyes & Guard tavern - Dust requested a make-over. She no longer looks like a swirling dust cloud.
    • Preview - New quests in the Eyes & Guard tavern:
      • Ransroth in the tavern now has 'Mordor - Conquest of Gorgoroth' reputation quests.
      • Karst in the tavern now completes the Throne of the Dread Terror deeds and grants Throne of the Dread Terror tokens.
      • Rock in the tavern basement now has quests for Silver Signets of the Thandrim and North Ithilien barter items.

    • Dungeons of Naerband - A new chest has been added for players who make it out of the Dungeons of Flame section of the Instance.
    • Dungeons of Naerband - Voice over and dialogue text was added to major Boss attacks. Dialogue text has been added to Orc and Uruk mobs for some of their attacks.
    • Dungeons of Naerband - The door to Thraknûl's area should reset more reliably when the fight resets.
    • Dungeons of Naerband - Thraknûl's Chains of Malice attack includes an induction and different effect icon.
    • Dungeons of Naerband - Damage done by the anti-healing debuffs has been reduced.
    • Dungeons of Naerband - Thraknûl is more resistant to unintentionally resetting when being kited.
    • Dungeons of Naerband - Fewer trash mobs will spawn between the first and second boss fights. Additionally, area-of-effect damage from Thraknûl and the Flame-spirits has been further reduced.
    • The first door in The Court of Seregost can now be opened in combat (but remains locked during the boss fight) to prevent players from getting stuck inside.
    • Ash of Gorgoroth has currency cap of 10,000.
    • North Ithilien Essences are now bound to account by default.
    • Missing farming ingredients were added to some Crafting Suppliers.
    • Steed of the Moon Moth naming inconsistencies are cleaned up.
    • The mount collections that previously granted titles have been replaced with deeds. To advance one of the mount collection deeds, you must use that mount skill (from the mount collections panel or from skill panel, mounts tab.) New mount collection deeds/titles have also been added for the 2015 & 2016 Festival steeds, Goat mounts, and Gondor mounts!
    • The 2017 Festival Steed deed has been added.
    • Lore-master Class Items "Book of Beasts", class items at level 20, level 30, and level 40, now give minor bonuses to pet stats.
    • Skills - Lore-master - Inner Flame - Duration halved from 10s to 5s. Fire Damage buff increases at an accelerated pace to compensate. Healing increased.
    • Tier 10 Captain Armaments may now be bartered for exchange receipts.
    • Crafting - Universal Ingredient Packs may now be used on select Westemnet Guild Recipes.
    • Crafting - Certain Jeweller recipes which did not allow you to inscribe critical outputs now allow it.
    • Crafting - Westemnet and Doomfold Captain Armaments now provide significantly more armour to heralds.
    • Crafting - The Anorien Expertise Token may now be consumed in a recipe also available from skirmish barterers.
    • The stable travel route to the First Hall should now drop you off in the correct spot in front of the stable master.
    • The quest "Lost Lore of Gorgoroth: Agarnaith" now rewards the correct reputation.
    • Human female mood animations have been updated.
    • Players who have logged out in the Vales of Anduin may be sent to Archet upon logging in. This is because the absolute location of the Beorning starting area has been moved. Other than this possible teleport, you should notice no difference in the Vales of Anduin.
    • Equipment - Level 105 Featured Instance Armour sets will once again be item level 222.
    • Crafting - Fragments of Gorgoroth Dungeons will have the proper plural name when stacked.
    • Instance: A Trap for the Creature should no longer break when using the flat stone too soon.
    • The Court of Seregost: Black Númenórean-slayer deed now indicates how many need to be defeated.
    • The Weeping Reeds in Agarnaith for the quest Flora Investigation are now visible above ground.
    • Coldan and Hithgol in Dor Amarth have been cosmetically adjusted to better suit their role and surroundings.
    • Camp site fires in Taur Druadan, Lossarnach, and the Wastes now allow Burglars to Contact Pedlar.
    • The Lossarnach quest "The Smoke Lures" no longer requires Orcs to be defeated.
    • Recent mounts such as Steed of Elessar's Host, Sunflower Steed, Rescued Steed of Agarnaith, Goat of the Harvest Sky, and Steed of Eldar Autumn have been added to the Mounts Collection display.
    • The Lossoth Steed and Steed of the Dusk-watch now have correct source information in the Mounts Collection panel.
    • The Skeleton Steed Rider Bundle can now be used (opened) even if you already have the Riding trait.
    • Minor performance improvements were made to the loading of the mounts collection page. Please let us know if you notice anything failing to load properly.
    • The Quartermaster "Conquest of Gorgoroth Rewards" now carries a slate of new housing items including statues, stained glass, and decorative flower garlands.
    • The character panel no longer hides equipped items that are in the loot filter.
    • The cat wander sequence plays smoothly now.
    • When a quest is filtered but underway, characters can still interact, advance, and turn in the quest.
    • Players should no longer see a Free Hobbit Present button immediately following the redemption of a free present.
    • To fix an issue that could prevent their use, the Poorly Hidden Chest, Out-of-Place Strongbox, Out-of-Place Lockbox, and Out-of-Place Chest in the haunted burrow will now disappear and respawn after each opening.
    • Gorgoroth Scourge Spoils boxes no longer include Gondor Silver Pieces or Anórien Sealed Wax.
    • Rare spawns have been added in Agarnaith and Dor Amarth. This allows Hidden Threats of Gorgoroth to be able to be completed.
    • Captain Skills - Dropping power cost from motivating speech and improved motivating speech.
    • Items - Took in the Hole Hobnanigans recipe now properly provides +5% incoming healing.
    • Lore-master pets and Captain soldiers were collecting mobs from a greater area of landscape than desired. Their aggro radius has been halved.
    • Collections panel model views are now slightly bigger.
    • Kinship leaders are no longer required to abandon a premium kinship house to receive housing writs prior to disbanding a kinship.
    • Various small bug fixes for Ilex branches spawned in tree, the exit to Boffin Manor, two patrons in a Bree auction house are sitting on nothing, an invisible water volume, Ralthat's awkwardly positioned shield, floating planks of wood, a floating bush, an oddly misshapen rock formation, and an npc floating over bench.
    • The quest bestowal UI in German should now correctly fit the indicators for solo, small fellowship, fellowship, and raid quests.
    • Portions of Agarnaith should no longer be overrun with limitless cave claws.
    • 'Daily Request: An Errand for Frodo' has been restructured. Now the random spawns of Imprisoned Nurnhoth in Naerband have been replaced with static spawns, and should be a less frustrating experience.

Thank you. This question may be answered by the patch notes, but Tybur, are there any changes to PvP this round that I should be testing? Thank you, sir!

As of this build , the only potentially best-in-slot items from lootbox are earrings/bracelets/offhands/shields and MAYBE rings.
Thankfully , the raid gear + cloak got a significant ilvl boost and so did the craftables ( helm/neck/pocket).And don't forget new relics : )

    So yeah , that's progress...

Now i hope you totally remove the ash barterers for the first few weeks after launch so that kins can have a legitimate race to first clear without having to pay2win for the initial gear that will give that extra nudge.

Ash barter items will also require a T2 deed completion of the raid for the teal rewards, according to +Loft.

    Notes have been posted.
There are no additional pvmp changes in this Bullroarer round. We are hoping to have more pvmp changes with our next Bullroarer.
Please note, there will NOT be a Bullroarer preview weekend next weekend due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I am currently planning for the next Bullroarer approximately 11/30.

With this change (and the landscape drop changes) there will be no good way to farm ash for gear other than buying lootboxes. New characters to mordor once its released for LP will be screwed...

Why not just make every day reward a key?

The new shield cosmetics are great; though the Heavy Shield is a little small in my opinion

I criticized SSG a lot before, but it seems a good starting point and a fair compromise.

Please if you make 1 day lootlock can you make either pick a box lootboxes for equipment or increase ash by 20 per teal/purple so we have better stream of it now that we cant run several times the instance... Even now its extremely hard to get chest piece for example. Sure teals drop but its always jewellery or leggings. Never chest that one needs.

Devs, does this mean we have just one box to pick from? Please, please make 3 individual boxes, each boss having 2 unique pieces. Otherwise people dont need to finish the raid in order to get full set but can farm the easiest boss. That kind of boss farm abuse is never healthy for the game.

Otherwise happy to hear about the raid gear getting proper nod it deserves on the initial launch.

I'm a little confused. A couple of clarifications are need here please:

    • Is it the T2C deed or only the T2 (non-challenge) deed? If it's only the T2 deed, does this mean there is no loot exclusive to T2C?
    • Is the gear we're talking about the same gear that is currently barterable from the High-Enchanters for 1650 and 2100 ash ("Abyss" and "Wyrm") and is all iLvl 337. Is this the gear that will be removed from the High-Enchanter and gated behind the T2 deed?
      • If yes: does this mean the ash prizes for 345 gear can not be seen anywhere on BR? Will it be even more expensive than 2100 ash?
      • If no: does this mean we're truly able to instantly barter a complete set of 337 ash gear without deed restrictions for ~23.700 ash? What are the ash prizes for the T2 gear?

Otherwise happy to hear about the raid gear getting proper nod it deserves on the initial launch.
Messed around a bit tonight -- they give you a 'Gloves Armour Box' -- so it comes with 3 different choices (each spec set) for your class. My concern is with the addition of Helm as a Craftable Recipe only, does that mean the first boss is only going to drop Gloves (and the other 2 drop 2 Armour pieces each)?

The Gorgorth Daily Expedition quests now award 2 Slivers of Black Steel each so that you can earn Black Steel Keys equally from any daily expedition.
I generally don't think this is a good policy. You're taking things away from us to try to force us to run more dailies (and buy from Store if we wish to trade) instead of picking and choosing. It was nice to be able to pick and choose before, and prioritize days we made time for it. Setting it to 2 Slivers for each daily results in us getting less reward for our efforts than we were before and you're also making them bound. As it is, if I had 3 characters with dailies unlocked, ran 3 dailies each week on each toon I'd wind up with 9 Keys before this update. Now I'd wind up with 6, and they'd be bound to each character. I don't think taking things away from us when you feel like it is a good way to engender trust and good will from your players.

Leave the current dailies with their Black Steel Key rewards as is, and up the rate Slivers for the other dailies to 2 each, please. Would encourage us to run more dailies whilst not engendering distrust due to you setting rewards for a quest, and then nerfing those rewards significantly a couple months later.

I would like to continue to be able to run multiple dailies and pool those resources on my Main or alt of choice. Similarly I like being able to assist my friends, wife, and returning friends by handing them some Black Steel Keys if I can, only offering me bound ones results in me being unable to do either of these things, whilst requiring me to put in more time and effort than I had been for an equivalent amount of Keys as before update.

Naerband and Seregost instance chests now have a 1-day lock on them. Equipment drop rates for these chests have also been increased substantially.
I understand the reasoning behind this -- give us higher chance of valuable loot whilst encouraging us to run a larger variety of content. However, I hope you will take feedback into account as to how this could negatively impact a good portion of your playerbase.

    Issues:

Disadvantages those whom can only play a few nights a week. They will only get loot 3x a week, whereas before they could have just played extra on that one night to earn more loot.

Discourages someone who's already completed the instance that day to run it with another friend or Kin member. There are often groups of friends who run together -- sometimes one of them might log on earlier in the day, run with another person, and then want to run it later with other friends. Your current plans penalize them for this and give them no rewards when they do the second run.

Similarly, this discourages us from taking new members into the instances. If I run the instance with different class combinations and/or try to teach new people in a situation where we might wipe then if we fail to complete T2C, I will have to run it later again, whilst getting no loot from the majority of the chests. A lot of us are happy to help and teach people. However, this further encourages potential frustration with people who are learning -- I'd really rather that not be the case, as some people can be toxic enough as it is at times, unfortunately.

Randomness is still present, just less so, and I am not allowed the opportunity to run it again to try for a better 'roll'.

Some of these issues are fine when it comes to raiding (loot locks), and are important for the longevity of a raid, but on a smaller scale discourage people from grouping up with newer people and discourage people whom only have one character from running it with more than 2 of their friends in a day.

    Proposed Compromise:

Implement a Daily Chest or Daily Quest Reward for completion of T2/T2C/T1 (one, or 2, or all 3).

    Benefits:

People will have a good reason to run the instance once a day if they can, and to try out different class combinations by alting to different characters to clear the instance for extra loot, whilst still giving those with 1 toon, or those who've completed the instance that day to get some rewards for their effort, instead of nothing.

With a little more effort those whom miss some days here and there can try and make up for it by running the instance a few more times if they wish, and still be rewarded for it.

Doesn't turn the game into a situation where you feel like it's necessary to log in each day, do your key daily, do a 3 man, and then log for the night because everything else gives very little or no rewards.

There is a large chunk of your community whom likes running your instances even past the point of really needing much out of them. We just like running instances with our friends, and getting some loot along the way is a bonus. Taking away that loot is demotivating.

    ----------------------------------

Enough of the negative feedback, here's some positive feedback:

This raid looks awesome! I am in love with the atmosphere and the look of all the bosses. It is an incredible space you've created and the bosses all look exciting and it's clearly evident that a lot of effort was put into them. 3 bosses was underwhelming when I first heard about it but you've done a great job of making the raid a very impressive one.

I appreciate that you've listened to the community and decided to alter the way Ash and Raid Armour works. Really gives value to the raid loot and makes it desirable, and I fully understand that in U22 there will likely be some good catch-up gear and maybe upgraded versions of raid armour (similar to North Ithilien). I feel like you've struck a good spot with the rewards. Maybe it was your plan all along. Either way, the result is extremely appreciated.

Please! Chamge this. at least make armours not available from the lootboxes. Otherwise, you are turning this game into a P2W like EA's Battlefront II by setting threshold to ash bartering while keep them in lootbox.

    Exclamation

So basically that whole other thread in the General Forums, containing (to date) 9 pages and 201 replies, with about 90-95% of the people posting being in agreement on what changes that are bad, like removing LoE/Ash drops from landscape mobs in favour trying to push people to buy keys for gambling with lootboxes, most of those issues/concerns have been ignored with the new Update in testing. At least if I understand all the notes correctly. In fact the grind have possibly been made even worse and slower with 1-day locks on Mordor CoS and Naerband instance chests. Only really one issue has been adressed to a small extent.

    ---> https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...uted-Even-More <---

These updates are still the same even after all concerns and dislikes raised in the forums by so many:
Nothing has changed on this. LoE/Ash will be removed from landscape mobs. And to avoid confusion, Incomprable/Teal tier gear, has been the only LoE gear that have been dropping, so removing that removes all LoE/Ash drops from landscape mobs.

So have fun trying to get enough LoE gear and/or Ash from simply adventuring through the landscape, questing and killing mobs as You go up to 112, as was raised with all the discussions related to the other thread on this topic. At 112 You won't even have enough Ash if You turn all quest gaer into Ash to barter for the 112 gear. You'll have enough for maybe one piece of that gear and then You will have nothing else on You with LoE, as it's been turne into Ash to get that one piece. All future Ash will mainly be through lootboxes, either by getting the key from Allegiance dailies or buying keys in store. Until You hit 115 and can start do the instances but with them getting 1-day cooldown that wll be a slow process too. Welcome to the Ash grind, that of course can be solved if You buy key. *rolleyes*

As I can see nothing is mentioned about the lootboxes being more and more diluted either. Just ignored. No matter how You look at it they will get diluted. If You want cosmetics You might end up with decoration, ash or gear. If You want Ash You might end up with decorations. If You want gear You might end up with cosmetics (that can be turned into ash but its still not gear) or decorations etc. The more they add to these lootboxes the less the chance You get what You want. That is what gambling is all about. The House wins as You spend more money to try and win that reward.

CoS/Court Of Seregost and Naerband will now have 1-day locks on their chests:
So even if as stated the drop rates might have been "substantially" increased (whatever that means, could be from 1% to 5% for all we know) You will only be able to do it once a day after the update. So You won't even be able to farm these much anymore for possible LoE/Ash drops or crafting ingredients.

So this is basically the only issue/complaint adressed/changed a bit since last time. The Raiders concern that others could get the Raid gear as well through boxes:
If I understand correctly and I mean IF, then lootboxes will still reward incomparanble/Teal Raid level items just not the specific gear pieces that had set bonuses on them. Just the pieces that did not have bonuses on them. Things like jewelery and such will still be in the lootboxes. Maybe even some armour parts that did not have bonuses or just same armour just without bonuses. It is a bit unclear and hard to be sure with that explanation. The other parts will still be either dropped in the raid or bartered using Ash but only once You have completed the T2 Raid deed. Rare/Purple raid level gear will also still be in the lootboxes, in the raid and can bartered for Ash and not needed to have completed the raid or anything.

While those changes will most likely be welcome by some. It only solves the issue raised by some. The issue that only those that acctually do the raid should be able to get the teal raid gear. I don't disagree with that. However it doesn't much solve any of all the other issues with removing Ash from landscape, problems for casual players or the whole push towards buying keys for lootbox situation.

    A Nice Change imo:
With all the latest "hype" SSG seem to have to make more and more things BoA/Bind on Acquire they are at least trying to mitigate it a little bit with this change. Even if it's time-limited and I'm sure confusion will arise and things will still end up with people with the wrong class and the timer runs out. Still it's a step in the right direction I guess.

These items will list a "Item binds in:" timer in their tooltip. These items cannot be mailed or auctioned. These items cannot be stacked until the Fellowship Tradeable timer expires. Currently only The Abyss of Mordath chests use this new tech.

Not all of them. They will add the raid drops to the barterer and gate them behind deed.
Purple ( rare ) gear and whatever else they decide to leave into them will have no requirements.
Also , i am unsure the 337 teal items will be gated at all.

If that item level holds true its significantly worse than raid gear. Sure its useful gear but so were golden mathom gear. If theres clear difference between BiS and lootbox gear it should be ok.

NOTE: Thorondir was kind enough to do the math in another thread and basically this change is insignificant. We won't get 2 keys/day or even near that it seems.

Removing landscape drop, now locks on Mordor instances. Fewer and fewer ways to earn things like Ash in-game. Making grind take even longer.

This whole thing since Mordor just have the smell of pushing us towards lootboxes, buy keys in store for them. Something i will never do. Neither for my son, my step-son or myself.

It would be more honest then to just sell the things in the store straight up. List item and price. Pay and You get what You wanted. Whatever that might be that You want, mounts, cosmetics, vault space etc. Not try to turn people, especially minors, into gamblers.

They wont never remove p2w lootboxes whatever our feedback is. $$$

If you can get enough ashes by running raid t1, the progression will be fine imho.

I missed the part about locks on 3-6 man. That's just crazy, useless and game-killer.

I dont agree with their choice of turning the game into a p2w.

What i care about is to keep raid items/best gear obtainable ONLY by running raid, and also gives ppl a REAL alternative. Good ashes drop rate in 3-6-12 man to avoid the lootboxes mechanic. I dont think we can get more than this from them.

I'd agree with this option. Alternatively, if you really are married to the full picker: gate the ability to wear certain pieces of gear, or the ability to pick certain pieces of gear from the picker behind a completion of certain bosses.

I don't think there was a real issue which the way Throne did tokens and the deed for t2c gating the trading of tokens. Honestly, this picker seems to be trying to solve a problem where there really wasn't one. Why reward people with all the raid loot for only repeatedly completing part of the raid? This ultimately only serves to trivialize the "super special" gear, and will make the full raid completion optional regarding its core reward system. Bragging rights and finishing deeds are great, but if you want your raid to have any lasting power you need to link rewards to certain bosses and to certain challenges. I'm sure you could check out the statistics on how often people ran Rako/Vado vs. Mumaks/UO and see how this could be an issue. In the past, Moria comes to memory when medallions came on the scene, only Grand Stair was farmed for radiance armour. If you leave half the raid broken like this "cluster" is however, maybe it's for the best?

All that said: thank you the changes to lootboxes and gear available for ash, and allowing the raid to have unique and special rewards that aren't purchasable. That was a step in the right direction and I'm very happy to see it. The best step would be seeking a less deplorable source of income than gambling for ash and gear at $1.50-$2 a pop for an average of 44 ash per lootbox and unbelievably low gear drop rates, (with the alternative being an insanity inducing grind or an exceedingly long wait doing dailies), but one step at a time I suppose.

2 units in Mordor to farm equipment and get the daily ID on the lootbox. you can not do that

IMPORTANT: Both BotLike, Osglinthor and Arnenna also pointed out in another thread that it now seems as we will get keys only from sliver and not from daily wrapper. If this is correct, that means they keys will be character bound from now on and can't even be traded to an alt or anyone else. Yet another step towards selling more keys in store, as those are the only ones that can be sold or passed on to others unless that changes too. *sigh*

Sneaky move if that is true. Good these people caught that. Again if that is correct and true.
