Could the answer possibly be dust?

I take back my 'earthworm' guess and I'll have to say:

    A CLOUD!

    You are Correct!

    Very nice...

By the way, I like your sig, Blackhawk. Although, I would call rhyming "war" with "sword" a bit of a stretch.

Unless Petorious appears soon, I will invoke the 24-hour rule with the following riddle, though his is the right of the next riddle.

    My blood, when dry
    Gives your inner thoughts life
    When in the right hand
    Entire nations I command
    Though silent, I may roar
    Need I tell you more?

Just want to keep up the momentum.

    A pen.

Assuming I'm right, I'll try to come up with a riddle of my own.

    Re: The Riddle-Game

    Sometimes red, sometimes clear
But I am not blood, nor am I mere
I have a nose but cannot smell
Arguments I both start and quell
I breathe though I am not alive
Under your feet I often hide

Probably too easy. Hard to tell when you're writing it. If it is, excuse me, as this is my first attempt.

Sorry, but even if 'wine' is the correct answer, tehmeaty still has the right-of-riddle.

It's been 24 hours, and I'd like a turn at this...

    Shot from the Earth
    Aqcuired by fire
    Found to be,
    To a tolerable degree,
The last remains of a cut down tree.

My first riddle ever, hope it's not too easy...

... and I'm terrible at coming up with riddles. I leave that to people like Tolkien *g*

You'd be surprised how much fun it is trying to write a riddle. Just give it a shot! I've had a few on here - the only ones I've ever done - and while I've never had anyone guess wrong, half the fun is in the writing.

I love riddles, even though I'm not very good at guessing them. Perhaps I need to do more thinking and less day-dreaming hehe.

Earendel's silmaril again? (If it is, you guys are doing too many Earendel's silmaril riddles)

    Re: The Riddle-Game

Nevermind, disregard that. I just looked up and saw that someone said ashes. That seems more reasonable. I'm just in a LotR mindset, and if you think about it from a LotR perspective, Earendel's silmaril kind of makes sense.

I know it hasn't been 24 hours, but the winner seemed to indicate that they wouldn't be adding a riddle, and I really like this thread so I thought I try my hand.

Rich man's may be of gold,
Poor man's may be of wood.
    Partner of emptiness,
    underneath your hood.

Not what I was referring to, but it does fit perfectly lol.

I was thinking of buttons (specifically the throat button of a cloak), but I think I have to give it to you with false teeth. This was my first attempt at writing a riddle, and I wasn't specific enough.

Funny - I always worry that mine are too vague (and my only riddles all appear in this thread), and then everyone gets them on the first shot. Here's mine:

    A sun in the night
    With colors so bright
    The sound will amaze
    Though quickly it fades.
