    haha nice

is this one too easy? it just came to me

    People never call me beautiful
Unless I spend time with other beautiful people
You want to check me out? Come gaze deep into my eyes
But don’t expect me to try to get close, to reach out to you
Take the initiative! Make your move first, I’ll wait.
Just smile for me! Seeing you smile always makes me happy
Please don’t be unhappy, don’t cry. It makes me sad
Oh, and don’t ever talk to me in front of the others
It could give you a bad reputation

    A Mirror/reflection

    If i'm correct here's mine:

    From a mother's body drawn
I hang till most of me is gone
Hidden away till I am old
I'm valued for my hardened gold

This one will be VERY hard, even to those who know your Tolkein history.

    Unhappy Re: The Riddle-Game

Sorry, I have been inactive, I subscribed, but apparently it stops E-mailing you after a while..... That's a doozy of a riddle, Joey, I'll have to ponder it.... Oh and me and Thelastalliance are on Arkenstone, if anyone wants to get together....

    Re: The Riddle-Game

Liked the mirror riddle, Elvyen. Not too easy, it took me 2-3 reads to get it.

No clue on the two new ones, though.

alright, here's my guess: Theoden? Aragorn? Eomer? Someone who was in the glittering caves during the siege of Helm's Deep, anyway. All of those three heroes were dwelling "in the deep" (Helm's Deep). They were currently protecting nothing, as they were waiting for the uruk-hai to break in. The ringed one (Saruman, he could be here referred to being ringed as Orthanc was surrounded by one ring shaped wall, and Saruman after all was given the title "ring maker." He also bore one of the seven dwarven rings). Saruman's head would certainly be "filled with stuffing" with ents smashing Isengard; if I had to listen to that noise I'd definitely put a little stuffing in my ears. Each of the three heroes were dwelling in the Glittering Caves of Helm's Deep. The followers stalking might be the uruk-hai searching for where they are hiding. "Till oak comes knocking" could refer to a battering ram made of oak that would smash down the door protecting them. So there's my guess, someone who was waiting for the final stage of the siege of Helm's Deep in the Glittering Caves (my guess isn't only those three heroes). It must be SOMEONE in there, I'm just not sure who as the riddle doesn't give much of a hint.

I have come up with a couple of guesses, but nothing that really matches the full riddle. I'm not a Tolkien scholar, but I'll keep working on it.

In the meantime, here's an offering from me:

    Purchased from misery
    into compassion,
    Changed from chattel
    into companion,
    Blessed by the Pilgrim,
    fled from danger,
    wandered homeward,
    there reunited.

Is this lotr related? I can't start guessing it until I know what I should be thinking about... actually, if it is lotr related could the answer be Gollum? He seems to fit in with most of the riddle.

He does, doesn't he? That's not the answer, though; it's just a neat coincidence.

    Yes, it's LOTR-related.

Bill it is! Excellent! I'm in the process of coming up with another one.

I have just about given up on J.J.'s riddle.

still no answer on the big bad riddle, but its coming.

in the meantime, here's a ridiculously easy one I just thought up. Dont laugh, its the best I can do today, work is stressing me out.

A strong, stubborn old man am I
With many hands I wave goodbye
Around my waist, strong belts I wear
I wear a new one every year

The last line in JJ's riddle sounds familiar. I shall have to think on that.

Here's a new one for you:

    Guardian, protector,
    cold and hard.
    Preserved ring-bearer
    from former ring-wearer,
    struck but never marred.

I just hope I didn't screw up the facts while trying to preserve a rhyme.
