    Hobnanigans 2014 Video

I was one of the lucky people to play a game of Hobnanigans while it was out for only 3 days. I also decided to record it not only for me and my friend's youtube channel, but for anyone who missed it.
The link to the video is below.

    Thanks and enjoy!

iirc, they making Hobnanigans a monthly event. So, even if people missed that time, it shouldn't be too long until the next one.

I think they will make it a permanent event without rewards once they work out all of the kinks in it.

That's the plan (Or roughly monthly, maybe every 6 weeks or so).

    Not the plan.

This video points out the problems with people taking sticks then going afk - the fact that they were all in the same kin (and with adaptations of the same name) suggests that they are multiboxers, and while this may not be against the CoC, this video makes it apparent that the practice is seriously wrong in this context.

Might as well get this out of the way before TTHTI

Is there any plan to patch the game to address some of the Hobnanigan bugs before the event returns?

Update 14 is currently the next planned update. It's unlikely that will change.

Awesome video. I recorded some matches too and have a video ready for YouTube, but I can't upload it until my internet connection gets upgraded on Monday. Upload speed is way too slow at the moment lol. I left my PC on overnight uploading and in the end, it failed for some reason. So I won't be doing that again until I have my upgrade

I'll try asking it another way. Is Hobnanigans still scheduled to be turned on for enjoyment again before Update 14?

Maybe? Remember, the Spring Festival is coming in a couple of weeks and will run through the end of May and part of June. So they won't run together, that's for sure. After that and before U14? Maybe.

Wow, so I'm not missing much am I? One or two people run around smacking a chicken while 3/4 of the players go afk and don't do anything. That looks...great.

    Yikes.
A very small part of me was thinking I might swing by and check it out. Thanks for posting the video, now I know even if they fix the AFK issue I won't be heading over.

If I may add, that would be nice if it lasted a little longer. Some of us can't play on week days, but some of us can't play on weekends, so making it a Friday-Sunday event can lead to some frustration...

No, I wasn't far away from my computer last week-end. How can you just imagine that?

Could the Treasure Hunt and Hobnanigans alternate fortnightly? That way at least one is on every week.

When you've got people fully participating it can be good fun - I've had particular fun playing with kin teams and with/against the Ettenmoors community on my server - but the problems with afkers and multiboxers mean that these positive experiences are rather rare

People going AFK isn't a terrible concern for me, although I can certainly see how all of your teammates being afk is a bad thing. As long as I'm winning, I don't care if everyone else on the field is AFK. But the chicken going out of bounds is a major problem for me. Of the 2 times I tried the game, the chicken ended up out of bounds 2 times. Not fun, and not a good first impression. I love the concept, but the implementation just isn't there.

People running a field with their alts or alt accounts isn't the problem. The problem was that you need 6 people before you can even start a game. People started bringing in their alt accounts and using their alt chars just to be able to start a game to play. Its when someone else finally shows up to play the game they see that the field is already taken and no spots are left. Don't blame the guy or gal who started the game going with with their alts. Blame the fact that not enough people on some servers wanted to play Hobnanigans enough for a game to even start without alts.
