I GOOGLED what you wrote with lotro in front of it and got

This item drops from the rare mob Achathrin who spawns in Amon Ros.

It might be a taxidermy thing but probably a trhopy no longer used ingame.

yes, yall are posting what the item is. im wondering what its used for. no need to be condescending about it especially when you are wrong in your condescension. kthx.

It's simply vendor fodder. Sell it or destroy it. It has no other uses.

And, it is not a Taxidermy item. Those specifically say they are Taxidermy items; See http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Item...arghest_Corpse

Glad you found what you were looking for but did want to give you a friendly suggestion. Neither of the two people above you were being condescending at all, and neither of them were wrong. One gave a direct link to the item and the other quoted what it said and gave a guess as to what it might be. Danny wasn't too far off the mark with his/her guess. It is just vendor trash now but those trophies used to be used (IIRC) in old crafting recipes. But treating people rudely when they try to help is a good way to get other people to ignore you (at best) or to get yourself in trouble with the mods (at worst), so you might want to double-check what you say to people before you say it.

This item, and many similar items, were once upon a time the necessary ingredients for special crafted items. However there were complaints about being able to collect just the right item for what you were trying to craft, so Turbine replaced them with "shards". Sapphire shard, ruby shard, etc. This made it much easier to craft the item you wanted, while still requiring some degree of difficulty since you still needed to hunt down shard droppers. They had these monsters drop shards in addition to the original trophy item for those who still had the old-style recipe lying around. Nowadays the old recipes are gone, but the trophies remain as a nostalgic symbol of days gone by. Or more likely because Turbine can't be bothered removing them.

Exactly. Nowadays they're just some more silver from vendors. If you find yourself running low on inventory space, they are the first items in the trash.
