Rodin12, you fail to realise that under the provision of the overall synergisticplan, the class definition of a proven solution to the aims andconstraints requires considerable systems analysis and trade-offstudies to arrive at the total quality objectives.

Whilst it may be true that the class definition of what amountsto the continuous hypothetical comparison confounds the essentialconformity of the prevalent collective projection of a Beorning. We can then rigorouslyplay back our understanding of the universe of aesthetic, one mustnot lose sight of the fact that the target population for the principalintrinsic capability retrospectively alters the importance of thenegative aspects of any product lead times.

The intrinsic deliveryis taken to be a falsifiable integrational Human-Hobbit dichotomy. Presumably, what has been termed the big picture shows an interesting ambivalencewith the integrated mutual theme. The advent of the overall businessbenefit preeminently indicates the transitional primary priority.

This may be due to a lack of a corollary.

Are you still on about this? There are plenty of reasons why hobbits don't get to be everything:

    - they didn't go in for magic, so no LM or RK. As for Beornings, what can I say? Even if we were just getting some 'Druid' style spellcasting class, hobbits still wouldn't get to play.

    - they weren't warlike, so no Champion or Captain. (Merry and Pippin sort of qualified, but only after they'd drunk the Ent-draught and grown a foot taller... so that's just them. And they only ever led other Shire-hobbits, not everyone).

    - even Merry and Pippin were only knighted after the war, so at the point the game's got to that hasn't even happened yet! And it was only an honorary thing when it did, nobody expected them to fulfil the role of a knight - it was just to do them honour.

And you've been told most of this before. More than once.

Funny you should say that. I was reading this thread earlier and the first thing that came to mind was that a hobbit Beorning in bear form would look like a teddy bear. Koala fits as well.

I think the intended audience for the addition of a new class isnot the same as those who would have themselves playing the role of a Beorning. This is a play towards people for whom theactual game play of LOTRO, the combat, is the main draw. It is a new flavor of the day. Outside of combat it seems likely that theclass will look little different and be treated in an RP context as nodifferent than any other man. RuneKeepers were a huge issue for folks sensitive to Lore. My take then as it is with the new class isthat while the Lore grounding is week to unsupportable, that isn’t the point orpurpose of their existence. I don’t RPwith people who play their characters as actually “their class.” On Landroval Ican’t recall the last time somebody actually tried that since the RK wasintroduced.

So is there much purpose to kvetching about not being able toaccess this class as a Hobbit, Dwarf, or Elf? No. If RP and “being the Bear” iswhat you look forward to about this class you are doomed to disappointment Ithink. I bet we see a new class everyyear for the next three or four years, maybe more than one. And I doubt any will have a new starter zoneor more than a tacitly different visual quality about them. They will be interesting to people who raid, skirm, PvMP, and collect alts. But inpractical terms they aren’t about RP or whatever title and Lore is used toflesh out a background for them.

On topic: It's sad for someone who loves to play hobbits that several classes are excluded - but that's Middle Earth for you. With the same reason I could start a rant that in the Tolkien-Universe there are no female dwarves, at least none that go out adventuring.

As a player of hobbits...im quite thankful we are excluded from Beornings...although the picture of turning into a koala, sitting up a tree, eating all day and peeing on anything that happens to walk below is appealing....
    ahem...
While i do harbour sweet dreams of being a hobbit captain or champion...and Rad will marinade and burn me at the stake for dreaming that...i understand why hobbits will never be allowed

Merry & Pippin did a pretty good job of leading their fellows at the Battle of Bywater. Think you'll find their weapons & gear were more than just ceremonial.

Let's also not forget that it was indeed Merry who dealt the fatal wound to the Witchking; Eowyn just taking the last couple hundred of morale and nicking the kill!

Captains aren't Knights... And since it is known that all other races are fading, and that men must lead the path, they are most appropriate for the captain class.

Champions are dual-wielding meat machines. They kill stuff with no mercy(In a good way!!!!). Merry and Pippin were not meat machines, they were defenders... In my honest, truthful, opinion, Merry and Pippin would be classified as a guard.

A hobbit lore-master is a little out of proportional as well. All hobbits did was eat, sleep, and eat more... And travel. They didn't have time for books and knowledge. They just wanted to have a good time!

    -------------------------------------------------
No, as for Beorn and the Beornings:

The Beornings were distinctly man, and only man. No other race inherited the genes the Beornings had that allowed them to... well... be Beornings. Just because the, arguably, most important character was a hobbit(It is my opinion that Aragorn was fairly important, as he has practically a separate book than Frodo, if you split the two stories), doesn't mean that a hobbit should be allowed to play every class. Turbine is right at keeping the Beorning race specific to Men, as no other race fits. Not every race is perfect for every class, and unfortunately, hobbits aren't the best pick for Beornings, as they don't make sense in the lore.

    -------------------------------------------------
That's just my two cents in the discussion!

Two words - Farmer Maggot. Even old Bombadil had wise words to say about him. Who's to say that Maggot was a one off? Especially given that Born the Old is going to have lots and lots and lots of direct descendants when this new class gets rolled out

Steady on! Hobbits just dont eat, drink, sleep! They also toil the good earth and are natural farmers....and thats no job for lazy folk. There are also the hobbits of Buckland who patrol the High Hay and guard against anything nasty coming in from the Old Forest, they are the more militia orientated of all the Hobbits, who will arm themselves and come running if the Horn of Buckland is sounded and let us not forget the battle of Greenfields and the mighty Bullroarer!
Hobbits are not all cute happy folk!. Many have the same qualitys as humans. Cowardice, greed, apathy etc etc...the Sackville Bagginses spring to mind...whoever thinks Lobelia is cute needs their head read!

The Hobbits were not protagonists either. They did not "start" the war. Frodo and company would probably have chosen to stay home in The Shire had it not been for Bilbo finding the Ring.

    Captain is limited to RoM
There are technically no female Dwarves

I have no complaints about either of the above.

Pippin and Merry were granted Honorary Knights of Gondor titles after the war.

No-one is forcing you to choose or take anything. How and what you play is entirely up to you.

You all should be discussing the more important thing: Why can't elves be hobbits? They always seem to be carrying around pie, and people think they're adorable! The elves should be adorable and have free pie too!

Elves and pie? With elves, I always imagine them drinking some sort of spring water or a very smooth wine!

then with that reasoning cannot be lm that eat cakes and a lm does not eat if it is human or Elf

If we continue the tradition the following things have to disappear from lotro Lm human or Elf only there are 5 magicians and all are istaris none deadly female characters, women cannot go to battle only Eowuin tradition and dwarf disguised Rk dwarfs hate magic class rk class mistres and lm class do not exist to find other things against the tradition if you want or just respects the tradition to call useless and vague to the hobbits

If you follow the tradition game is very bad, in lotro tradition alone is used to disparage and ridicule to a race

and finally the shide is inspired by the English countryside where high class people studied and were members of the army and peasants were not, I do not mean to a peasant hobbit I want a hobbit educated and distinguished as Frodo and if it can be Lm, as any human or Elf, not all the hobbits are peasants, nor all human scholars depends on culture and social class at that time. You must stop with the idea of the hobbit peasant and ignorant of once and for all

and for knowledge of all I I have hobbit Wizard in another game and it is not nothing ridiculous here this test
