(I can't edit the title, and I can't delete it to start over - *mutters to himself*
Club Éclair uses the Stone of the Tortoise to keep all members at the same level as we make out way through Middle Earth.
We are also a role-playing group in that, when we do get together for adventures, they are of a walk-and-talk role playing mode.
With the XP Disabled, we can play our characters when and how often we like. Yet, when there are group things to do, each can find others at their level for the adventure.
We tend to play at level + 5 - so level 27 characters work on Level 32 quests.
We handle skirmishes as training exercises set up by the Watchers of Bree and the Rangers. We treat the Erebor instances as interactive stories - think of a group of individuals and a story teller saying, "The group comes upon a menacing giant tossing boulders onto the road. You there, dwarf. What should the Champion do?"
Other instances are a part of our battle against evil - such as a series of group missions into the Great Barrow instances to battle Sambrog and his minions. We cannot defeat him, of course - only drive him deeper underground.
When the Rangers are done with us in Esteldin, we need to investigate happenings at Oatbarton - which will lead us to Dwaling, King's Crossing, Tinudir, and Oct Ferod. Then, we will answer the summons to go to Rivendell - an adventurous march that will see us stopping at Ost Gareth to battle Ivar Bloodhand and the Red Maid.
If this form of adventure appeals to you, you are invited (encouraged) to join us.
We currently have nine active regular players - 4 European and 5 American - and a larger number of semi-regular players that chip in from time to time. The more we have, the easier it will be to form larger groups.
We have set up a user channel for communication. You can find us with /Joinchannel club-eclair.
