    Perchelm passed into shadow

    Attention: Old School Pvpers

Perchelm passed away due to a severe asthma attack. He played a large role in forming this server's early pvp, as well as taking part largely in the medium range. While I wasn't close to him as a player, I know there are many vets and players who have ceased to play who held him, as I do, in high regard. It's a crazy time of year with the expansion coming out tomorrow followed by Thanksgiving in the US. With that taken into account, we will hold a vigil in memory of Perchelm on Dec 3rd, at the West Bree milestone, @ 9pm CST. I hope this large delay, will provide plenty of time to those who linger, but don't play, to update clients and participate in his remembrance. (IE: Everyone who played with Perch but doesn't have a sub -- you can visit West Bree as f2p). Perch played a large role in the pvp on this server during it's infancy and mid years. I've msg'd as many old school players as I could find on my facebook to notify of this vigil being held. If you're an old school player and not on my facebook, please share this date with those that were in AoD and CTA. I think this is a great opportunity to remember Perchelm, and what he offered to the pvp community on this server. Please, all old school players who shared the battlefield with him or opposed him, take the time to download the update and remember one of the pivotal members of our server in its infancy.

It's ridiculous the level of rage I achieved upon seeing that response. I'll just link a perfect Perch again.

Pretty sure I have at least one Perfect Perch in my house, if I can unlock it. I know I sent several of them to Perch back when I ground Fishing to cap and I think he had them all over the walls of his house. All of us always joked that the devs created the Perfect Perch for him because he was such an amazing Minstrel. I believe it.

I didn't know the man, but he did kick me around on his minstrel.

With this news, I feel as if I just died a little inside. This really puts things in perspective because one thing I and Perch shared, is that this is just a game. He and his play-style reflected that in every way. He was one of those characters that has kept me coming back to this game year after year and I, along with many others, will miss him.

I don't feel a thing when dieing ingame. The only time I really mind is when the rez is on the other side of the map.

    Vic,

Thanks for the thought of doing all of that in memory of Perch and for trying to spread the word to all of those old players who remember him fondly. I will definately do everything in my power to be there for the vigil. I have shared with the few that are on my facebook and even added a few that I should have added a long time ago. It is amazing how much a part of your life some of the people we meet in game can become and I know he will truly be missed by me and those that were close to him in game.

I'll be there. This was a nice gesture of you to think of, Vic. As Gunnor stated, it's just a game, and good or bad, we should cherish the moments we have it in together. All the drama is just for spark, but it really hits home when someone you played with in game for a long time suddenly passes. May you all be blessed and RIP Perchelm.

i didn't know Perch well, or at all really, but it's still very sad. My condolences to all those who knew him well, and were close to him.

If somehow I end up in the same group as Perch I am gonna feel mighty odd. This just reinforces that we are mortal. Remember that funerals are for the living so if you need to, go. I hope everyone with grief bares it productively. I really am going to miss perch in the moors. So if someone has his account information and all of use interact through the game will he still be living on the internet. Could it be possible to hack your TTL (Time To Live) field on an internet packet and live forever? Could routers throughout the world rebroadcast your internet essence? You know Turbine could probably make some money incorporating deceased toons into the game. Maybe you really could see ghosts. Come on people especially citizens of the United States do not be so prude as to not speak of these taboos. Anyway Rest in Peace.

Although I wasn't around Perch during the early days, I grouped with him fairly often over the last year. This guy is very kind hearted and with all of the hate that goes on in Lotro, was very refreshing to see. Putting aside the fact that he was a great player, it is easy to see that so many people are impacted by this news over the fact that they are losing a friend. This man will be greatly missed, RIP Perch.

I'd explain it to you, but I'm all out of Puppets and Crayons.

Haven't checked in on the forums for a long time and was greatly saddened to hear this news. While I didn't know Perch as well as some, I did have the privilege of grouping with him on several occasions and of talking with him in-game and in vent. He was a (very) skilled player, and a kind and generous person.

My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.

Heard from a friend that it was good ceremony. Wished that I could have been there.

Its always challenging to cope with the loss of a loved one. Perch would want us to move on, enjoy life, and not look back in regret.

Stay focussed. Stay motivated. Stay engaged.

    Happy Holidays.
