Having finished up the Elendilmir run less than an hour ago...

For escort characters, if you're a Hunter, trait blue to shoot on the move (and run faster as well).

From your designated raid spamhealer mini, very many thanks Sapience, and also especially for having it later in order to give us Aussies some fun.

Note: Mounts cause a lot of lag.

Just like to say thanks to Sapience and Turbine for putting on a fun event! Unfortunately my client crashed as we got to Eregion, but I got back on in time to warp ahead to Isengard and get that Gatecrasher title that's eluded me all this time. Some cool screenshots and general good times. Thanks again!

And since I don't see it posted yet, Elendilmir's time was 1:10:06 with no deaths.

I don't see Riddermark on the schedule. Can you tell me when the hobbit run will be?

    Thanks,

Hah, I had no idea that deadly hobbit was you!

Sign me up for your fan club.

    Love, Pearldrop.

BTW, while everyone wants to be part of the main raid, I think a supplementary one can be a lot of fun. We ran a lowbie raid, with the notable and esteemed exception of a (pardon if I misspell names) Bodo, Dhuoda, and Dwin... I'm sorry, I cannot even finish that name.

We had epic fun, though we lost some lowbies along the way. My wee little level 19 minstrel just kept running through the purple mobs, and fortunately, there was always some higher level killing them off before I bought it.

Truly, very fun time. I recommend it to everyone.

Seriously, just keep running. And bring morale pots.

I was very lucky, but I also had lots of morale pots.

The schedule is still being built out.

Sapience promised he will do on every server. Watch this space.

So far I've been lucky to be able to play as a lvl 10 hobbit hunter on each run to Isengard.

Gilrain--I made it just across Araniant, the bridge in the middle of Enedwaith.
Elendimir--I made it to the southern third of the Bonevales in Dunland.

Poor Gilrain suffered much more lag, when I died I never even knew I was aggro'd. I simply stopped moving for 15 seconds and then was defeated.
Elendimir was moving much better from the start, no huge lag spikes at every minor zone change, rather they had short 3-5 second hang ups at some of the major zone changes.
My death on E was exactly like I'd hoped it would be, if it had to be. I was part of the lvl 10 vangard, helping pull stuff out so it could be dispatched by the higher level scouts. Near the end of the Bonevales, I saw two hobbits pull lots of ranged aggro from the side canyons, the first fell quickly, the 2nd tried to find some cover. I fell back and actually took 4-5 hits before dieing, I did use a potion or two and had eaten some rations at the southern most dwarf marker, but I don't know if they were active or not.

Just seconds later Hadacar passed through on his successful voyage. I'm pretty happy to have made it that far, I wasn't in any group and only was healed/bubbled by the most generous of players. It gets scary when you find yourself in a layer with only 5-6 people, half of them lvl 10 like you, when you've grown accustomed to running with the pack of 50+

What an awesome adventure! This is the kind of thing I love to see within the game, the community coming together for pure fun. I made it to the Bonevales in Dunland before I died. That'll teach me to not work up a character beyond level 10 next time!

Only drawback I had going last night was, I was playing the game and watching/listening to the game on Twitch at the same time. I'd pop over to Twitch to see where the wee hobbit was and didn't realize the time delay there for a while, so was either too far ahead of him or too far behind. Had I stayed closer I would have made it to Isengard. Oh well, I know better what to do next time, and by the time you get to Arkenstone should have no problem keeping you alive (Knock on wood)

Thank you again Sapience for a wonderful time last night and I loved running all over Northern Bree-fields and beyond with you after your successful run.

The one on Gilrain used to be available on Sapience's twitch.tv channel. Unfortunately not any longer.

On Evernight I want to thank Sarahwan for giving me a whole batch of Light Hides I could craft my own armour with, and the Warlords of Angmar for taking me further in the challenge than I've come on any server so far.

I am watching one now - it looks really fun! So, in preparation, no cloaks, no mounts - anything else I ought to know? Hoping MY comp can handle all that going on at once, lol! I will definitely try to make the Riddermark run.

  21. #146
Was my first run last night on a lvl 10 hobbit rolled for the occasion. Was very enjoyable, and Sapience answering questions during the run was icing on the cake.

The only negative point, was the lag and some stubborn people who insisted in using mounts and keeping their capes. Some even decided it would be good fun to let off fireworks during the laggy parts of the run.

Using mounts could be justified in some ways for those left far behind without speed boosts, so mount up just to catch up to the main group. But some insisted in riding mounts in the middle of the main group.

The great point was the whole community atmosphere of all the players coming together for this social and fun event.

A big thanks to the organisers and participants.

On a final note - my little hobbit made to the Bonevales before being taken out by a one shot skeleton archer.

I look forward to the next one.

Since I was at Isengard at level 40 without bigger problems and another time I saw a level 20 guy there, I don't think it will be much of a challenge if you have bring a aggro magnet and/or ranged DD along.

Just a reminder to anyone who wasn't able to attend the run today on Crickhollow and is curious about what was discussed, I've posted the summary of the Q&A for today's run here.

Congrats on an amazing time and current first place standing, guys!
