We were so close, yet so far away

I thought Silverlode did quite well in working together as an organized group. People were nice to drop cloaks and leave their mounts out of it for the most part. I enjoyed a nice round of freeze tag with Hadacar and company afterwords. Thanks for a fun time everyone!

On a similar but unrelated note, took a chicken to Helms Deep today. Did it without an escort, used the trollshaws nest port, and made it in 1 hr and 2 mins. Got a pic, just trying to figure out how to upload it since kinsite is full atm.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I'm on Dwarrowdelf

So the gateway from Isengard into Helm's Deep works for chickens? I'm surprised since so many portals such such refuse entry to chickens.

  7. #307
Yeah, it's actually VERY easy. Like with the lack of mounted mobs in that area, it's easy to navigate. It's not really a portal as much as u just appear there. Plus, again I did the chicken run solo, that is ZERO escorts, no soul in sight on the whole trip. You don't need a raid or anything.

    Great job, Imladris!

Imladris: THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made our run a great success!!

It was a lot of fun, and it was sooo awesome to see all the Imladrisians get together and work to make it happen, and do so very well!

Special thanks to Bronwen, Zipsarchie for all the great effort you both put into organizing and planning everything. Thanks also to Galviel and Ara for being leads, and to EVERYONE for participating.

    CHEERS IMLADRIS!! \o/

Sirannon managed to squeak in just under Imladris' time to steal 3rd. 51m 55s. Just 3 seconds faster. Nice job!

cool. i never tried a chicken run 'till rohan, but i recently took a level 24 champion alone to helm's deep, then edoras and finally aldburg. on the road from aldburg to the entwade a mounted mob killed me. the next round i will try to reach lothlorien. with a mount 20% boost was easy to travel. you have to avoid ranged mobs and mounted mobs. i also used a 200 morale horse.

One small change to the schedule. The TTHTI run on Eldar is being moved up one day to Thursday May 15th at 2:30PM instead of Friday May 16th.

If you enlist a level 10 Hobbit for the run, are they supposed /follow the Sapience character or whom?

    Thanks.

You follow whomever you want, but preferably not Sapience's character, as you might block the view on the live-stream on Twitch.

Does anyone know the respawn time for the trolls on the gates of Isengard? I'm trying to plan for our run and want to see how far in advance we can kill them.

    Thanks.

It's best not to follow my character or the character I am following. Ideally you'd follow someone else in the group or form another group and follow someone in that (or run the whole way yourself).

Probably a good time to remind everyone of some simple suggestsions that work well for most groups and seem to improve the overall quality of the run.

    No Cloaks,
Dismount (no mounts of any kind),
    Dismiss pets (unless 100% needed).
Do not follow the person Hadacar is following.
    Do not follow Hadacar.
Watch out for "bottlenecks" and "choke points" - anywhere where players are funneled into a small space as they cross rivers, pass through valleys, pass through gates, etc. Lag spikes usually occur here.

Thank you It was a real server effort. Besides the ones you saw on-screen there were dozens scattered around keeping our route as clear as possible. I know we ran into some combat from time-to-time, which was my fault for getting disorientated with the lag and trying to make sure I didn't lose the hobbit, but we got there in the end. We couldn't have done it without everyone who was involved. I'm also grateful my internet held up and I didn't DC or crash lol.

    Wow! Awesome job Eldar!

I seem to be the anti-bare-chested-dwarf; every time I watch the stream live, the server chokes on the run. >_>

Congratulations to Galuhad and some others who organized the run very efficiently and everyone who participated from Eldar for putting up a great contest last night. I was there last night with a lot of my kin mates from 'The Liege' and from all the teamwork and enthusiasm, it felt really great to be a part of Eldar. Although I knew we had the potential to make it to the top three, I never imagined we could actually come first place. Had a lot of fun last night and hope to see more of such contests in the future, Sapience. Personally, I think the server which wins the contest deserves some kind of recognition and very much hope this is done. Kudos Eldar, keep up the great work!
