    HD Captain Solo List

Just for a bit of fun, let's post about crazy things we've soloed. Post your level and specialisation (most will be LoM, I assume) along with the name, level, and intended group size of the encounter. If you have screenshots, post them!

Last night, my level 88 Captain ran into Felljaw -- the level 88 Fellowship warband for Eastfold -- outside of Aldburg. I was unmounted and tried to fight him in LtC spec, which didn't go too well. So, I retraited to LoM (without changing gear). In LoM, I was able to successfully outlast Felljaw and his bear companions and come out victorious.

I fear that soloing tough stuff in HD becomes too easy for tanking classes with insane mitigations :/

In Beta I could solo lvl95 SG t2 till Gorothul where I quit because I got bored. Nothing except for the first boss there even felt as a challenge. For this fire boss I actually swapped to HoH rather than LoM, as it made it easier to heal through the fire in the last stage. Since my gear and LIs on live server are nearly the same now, I will repeat that adventure once I find a couple of hours free.

At the same time I encourage others to do the same - or similar - exercise. It gives a feeling of how ridiculously sturdy heavy armour classes are now.

I also managed to solo Burzash, the other level 88 Fellowship warband from Eastfold.

I ran into the Scion of the Great Boar as well, who's the level 89 Raid warband for that region. I think it's possible to solo him, but uh... bring lots of Wound pots. He stuns you and then applies a Wound that does 4k damage per tick. You can possibly get by with just Muster Courage, since the ability is on a longish cooldown, but the Wound pots will quite possibly save your life if your health was below 50% when you got stunned (which is not unlikely). I actually managed to beat him, but only because I died after taking out all his adds and then used my free daily respawn to come back and finish him. So, I don't actually count that for the solo list.

Wanted to try soloing DN today with Captain. Managed to defeat the twin Trolls (Blagh and Rung). Took a little while do to lack of DPS, but as long as you stay out of the acid cloud at the end it was no problem. May try to trek deeper when I have more time.

It was an easy solo at level 95 in HoH. Haven't tried LoM yet.

Priestess Bethan (level 95 raid warband) is an easy solo in HoH as well.

As far as scalable instances I've completed Sambrog challenge mode and Webs of the Scuttledells T2 (couldn't complete challenge as burning the webs would take too much time out of the 5 minute enrage timer), both in LoM.

Just traited LoM line and for giggles thought I'd try a Raid level Warband in the Eastfold (Scion of the Great Boar). Easy success! This is ridiculous...what happened to deadly adventure?

you and...well most gamers...must have a different definition of easy, seeing as how you are at ~40% health and less than 20% power ie. the fight could not have gone on much longer.

the more apt way to describe this would be to say that you can win any war of attrition that does not exceed your ability to maintain your power pool.

To a degree - my heals/pots kept me over 60% usually and the fight was lasting long enough to use multiple power pots. I wasn't genuinely afraid at any point. It'd dip to where the screenshot is and then bounce back up.

    Still had fun though!

these threads have lost their luster, to me.

I should NOT have been able to solo the overland raid quest nor any of the raid WBs. but I did.

there are only two war bands I havnt been able to solo. Celwuf, or whatever his name is. hes killed me like 4 times now. was nice killing him in a quest. cant remember the name of the other guy that killed me.

I know how you feel. Its one thing when its a nail-biting duel with a stronger adversary, another altogether when it happens on a whim. Back in the day (and he may still be there) there was an elite or elite master dragon that roamed around the North Downs just to the NE of Esteldin. We looked on him in awe but kept a safe distance, unless you went in force. It just wasn't possible to solo on level (or +10 over). That's what I miss, the challenge and sense of danger/adventure. I feel its been scaled back quite a bit.

I've been soloing level 95 small fellowship instances like school and library pretty easily.

I use herald /standard of victory, as power is the main limitation. My health never drops below 90%, even when I pull whole rooms.

What a coincidence... I killed him yesterday! was trying to see if those drakes dropped the items for the lvl 45 quest (they don't, but I just couldn't remember!) and saw him way up top... blue drake... name started with an "N." like two hits and he quits.

I was able to do Turtle in Moria at 90. HoH traited. Had to use shield and Herald of Hope, mainly for his heal. I dipped low a few times, but was able to heal back up. Still cant do it in the LtC ( i thik that is the red line)

Killed Skrizg in Bells of Dale t1. Need to keep herald alive a bit. LoM traited. Shadow rats are troublesome at endboss.

Not really a solo and not completed but still worth something.
I duo'd Flight to the lonely mountain T1 (95) with a minstrell, so far we managed to get 4 waves down, minstrell was dps, me on captain was LoM. But it depends on the waves some are easy others are nearly impossible, when there are captains in the wave you probably wont make it, captain minstrell cant duo the whole instance I think.
Other groups might though, 3-man shouldnt be that difficult, and i still need some gear changes...

Had to bring the hunter to help Bhorn out at Warg-Pens T2HM; he'd got to end boss solo but couldn't DPS the wargies fast enough. Once my huntie turned up - pew doggie, meat, 1-shot, repeat - no problem. His poor herald kept getting 1-shotted by Krankie, though, quite amusingly.

I think the most content is very easy for a LoM captain so i tried some damage race fights. I soloed Iorbars Peak t2cm and tried Sword Hall of Dol Guldur (sorry but I am playing with a German client and don´t know the english names of the instances), but the timer killed me while doing the 2 of the 3 bosses (all adds were dead). I did many other stuff solo too, already on 85 but i think the normal fights are really boring with the new captain.

I solo'd the Great Barrow Maze 6-man yesterday at lvl 95, no problem. Only limitation, like most have said, was power and time, but Morale isn't even a factor. Also I went through every Warband in Westfold, and solo'd all of them. LoM traited with Hope standard and Victory oathbreaker banner. After having a hunter as a main up until a few weeks ago, I am in love with my captain.

Most fun i had soloing with cappy till now was turtle (filikul) traited red.
It took a few tries but i managed it in the end.
I got the same felling i had when doing it on lvl 60-65, it was a dps race, as i couldn't keep up with the dot damage after 4 minutes.
I managed it after i got my dps to about 3k, which made me kill him at about 3:15 minutes.
I never manage it if my dps drops below 2.5k.
Anyway, try it for the old-school dps race rush

Anyone soloed SH T2 Challenge? I was doing fine in yellow, but my weapon broke. Then my other weapon broke. Seems like the biggest issue is not having your equipment fail, as you basically take no damage tanking all 3 bosses and the swarm of mobs...

Soloing raid content really is a joke... I've managed several level 95 T1 12-man skirmishes and don't imagine I'd have much trouble with the others, maybe even at T2. The real challenge is staying awake :/
