    Virtues

Are the virtue deeds necessary just for landscaping and soloing?

No, they effect your character in all aspects(Except roleplaying, maybe?). They're just earned through landscapes
Did everyone get a bugged signature? My BB code doesn't work anymore

As to if they're necessary when only playing landscape - not really. You'll rank some up just by playing along, so slot whatever you have that gives interesting boosts.

They're definitely helpful. Nowadays you'll get a lot more oomph from equipment, but virtues will also help. Some people are diligent about completing the deeds for them but you don't have to be. Do the ones that are for deeds you are especially interested in, or that are convenient for where you are questing. If you have access to a lot of zones then you'll be able to choose from many different deeds that raise the same virtue... more than what you'll need to max out the virtue.

If grinding out these deeds is something you find tedious and boring then go ahead and skip them. It is possible to get by without them and be OK unless you are attempting the most challenging content.
