Attention Lore Junkies - Do you recognize this symbol?

In Dunland there are 2 ruins. They are near Dunland on the map. The larger is almost impossible to get to however in that ruin is a broken statue that appears to be a dwarf. On his head is a symbol. Does anyone know what this symbol is? http://www.flickr.com/photos/44515431@N06/10937621025/ just curious as to what age it's from and how it ties into the lore. Co-ords are ~ 78.3 x 19.8. Thanks!

Well, to start, thats an old Gondorian sculpture, not a dwarf Therefore that symbol is the White Tree of Gondor.

Lore wise, Gondor at the height of its power extended all the way into Dunland (or Enedwaith in the game), therefore you would see some old architecture

Thanks to your lead I think I found the info on him. "Meneldil (Quenyan for 'Lover of the Heavens') (SA 3318 - TA 158, r. TA 2 - TA 158) was the son and fourth child of Anárion, and was recorded as being the last man born in Númenor before the downfall. He became the third King of Gondor in TA 2, after the death of his uncle Isildur. He was the first King of Gondor, who ruled independent from the High Kingdom of the Dúnedain, Arnor."

    Kudos!

Didn't you get an acceptable answer in the other thread?

Don't think the head's supposed to be any specific king. Or then that king got around a lot.

Those statues as well as the symbols are not dwarven & are not exclusive to that zone. The statues are better preserved to the south but the symbols are all over Middle Earth because the Numenoreans reign once governed all Middle Earth. The colosus are not 1 specific king they are generic representations of all the kings of old. only a few colosus are meant to be specific characters.
