    Does it improve?

    Hello everyone,

I'm currently playing a Captain who is level 46 at time of writing. I'm finding it very slow to get through quests and I'm not seeing any advantages over other classes thusfar. I'm playing solo (I want to group in the future but no one is in my level range apparently) and it just seems like I'm unnecessarily slow. I love the feel of the captain and I like the idea but she is just so slow. I just want to make sure it eventually will get better, otherwise I may need to figure out another class to play.

Edit: I'm pretty up to date on my traits and my gear seems to be fine, gauging on those around me.

40s was slowest for me on captains, too. It really shines at endgame right now.

Captains are going to be changed in some way or another with HD in a month though, so it's hard to say if it will be better later with change of some sort coming so soon. Whenever the NDA is lifted you can see if it's for better or worse according to opinions. Or, just wait a month to see for yourself.

I think the 40's are slowest for pretty much all characters

    Yep, I'd agree with this.

The major quest hub for 40's is in Angmar, and most of that is group quests after the initial set from Aughaire. At low 40's, I'd suggest doing some in Forochel - it helps speed things up. the quests in MM are a little too chain-gated, especially after the relative free-for-all from Estilden. At 45 you can do the Epic line that allows you to obtain your legendary weapon, and you can relatively quickly level from 45-49 in Eregion, then be ready for Moria at just about on-level.

Thanks for the replies. I'll just push on. I'll try Eregion, I was slogging through MM.

I've leveled every character class up to 75 now, and captain was the slowest to level, and the least fun during that process. But at 85, my cappy is a lot of fun to play. Mounted combat is also a breeze. Captains are just more fun with 2/5/11 more characters around to benefit from the buffs.

If you find someone to level/quest with it's a lot more fun.

    Lightbulb

I agree with the priors, level 40 to 50 seems the lowest. I think is in part something psycological because you are expectant to reach a safe level to go into Moria. Also i recalled that when i got my captain around those levels power drain was a issue, so i have to have to use victory banner instead war, slowing down the dps. I found useful to get the legendary weapon & item as soon as possible (level 45-46 respectively) because that extra dps help upset the dps lost by the change of banner.
