Exclamation Happy Cloud is so Cheeeeeeaaaaaap!

Happy Cloud has been running secretly on my pc background without my authorization, doing nothing except for affecting my lotro playing experience of lotro (crash my game every now and then) & consuming my pc resources; which makes me so annoying about it.

Wanting to get rid of it, so after reading the post on this forum I think I can safely uninstall it without affecting my lotro installation.

But this action had me now re-installing lotro, I hate Happy Cloud, it's useless and soooooo cheeeeeeaaaaaap!

Everyone and Turbine please be alert by its behavior and we shouldn't encourage it!!!!!!

Sounds like that horrible Pando program they use too.

I managed to get rid of pando, but not happy cloud as when I tried it also uninstalled my game.

Once the client is up and before full screen launches, I always stop happy cloud. I think it is needed when updates are being installed but other than that there is no reason for it to be running as you play.

I don't have happy cloud installed & get updates just fine.

The only reason I say that is because when there has been an update and the client is downloading and installing those updates, happy cloud tells me the game will close if I stop happy cloud, and only during those times.

However I am happy to stand corrected, and hope there is a way to get rid for good. I passionately hate being told what I must have installed on my PC lol.

I do not have any Happy Clouds on my PC. Perhaps it is something that is installed if you download LotRO via Steam? One of the reasons I do not like Steam is that it forces you to maintain Steam files in order to play the Steam downloaded software. This may be one of those required Steam files.

No, Happy Cloud is the "play instantly" option on the download page. Pando Media Booster is the "download" option on the download page. Steam is not on the download page.

I don't think it's a Steam file. I run LOTRO through Steam and I don't think I've ever encountered it.

Just download LOTRO using the Pando option and when it is installed, uninstall pando and be done with it. Do not need happy cloud or pando for the game to run or update as I have neither and it works and updates just fine.

I just got a new PC and did download through the "Play Now" option through Happy Cloud. It uninstalled just fine...you do have to have browsers and probably the game both closed.
