    Bilbo's Party Tree table centerpiece

The table centerpiece I made for our Granddaughter's 1st birthday.
Getting her started early with an appreciation for Tolkien!

Made from Broccoli for the Tree, Parsnip strips dyed various colors for the Ribbons, Carrot for the Table & one Ribbon,
Cream Cheese dyed brown, Green sprinkles, D&D Halfling figurines that I painted 35 years ago (yep I are an old fart!)

No the Hobbit figurines are metal. I wouldn't recommend biting into one

Giant broccoli in the Shire! Surely this is Sharkey's doing.

I suppose I shall have to do my vacationing in the (relatively speaking) fragrant plains of Angmar after this odiferous development in Hobbiton.

    Awww very cute!

Broccoli and trees are always a good thing.

That is very healthy and a great way to teach the younglings that life is not always "cake" and that eating vegetables can be interesting and that large trees are worth keeping around.

Great post, it made me laugh, heartily!

    Awesome

My only child (daughter) would never allow that for my grandkids. She's always been embarassed that I'm such a big nerd and her name is Bree! Unbeknownst to her, she named one of my granddaughters after the dwarf Kili but she spells it differently (Keely). I never told her or she probably wouldn't have done it...teehee. And she named my grandson Griffin after a mythical creature, or after Griffin Bunce, a hobbit, (also unintentionally) so who's the biggest nerd?
