Option to use different forum skins please?

White text on black background is painful. I can usually only stand 5 minutes at most. I know it doesn't effect everyone this way but white text on black background is notoriously uncomfortable.

It's very easy to just add another skin and allow users to choose which one they want to use, any chance please?

(And yes, I have already adjusted brightness etc as much as I am willing to without having to change it all the time for other stuff).

    My personal opinion.

The text is not white. It is an easy on the eyes off white perhaps grey white. I find it easier to look at than the bright white background with stark black letters that is presented to me by the editor while I was writing this post.

I think the "white on black easy on the eyes" is why so much computer hardware is black. My keyboard was black with white letters. I changed for a black frame, white keys and black letters because I often have a low light situation. I can't see the white letters on black keys very well. Again my keys on my keyboard are off white. There are not the bright tidy white that I am getting with the forum post editor.

But even reading your post makes my eyes hurt. I understand it may only be a minority (of one even lol) but it would be nice to have the option

If you use Chrome or FireFox, you can get the "Stylish" plug-in and then use the information in this thread to get a "light" theme. I prefer dark, but I've made adjustments to it too (including hiding all the forums I don't care about). There's more information on those sorts of things in this thread.

Fortunately Khafar provided an answer before I returned an had time to look it up.

You are right whenever there is a single style there are going to issues for some people. I am most used to people being unable to see elements because of their inability to see the differences between certain colors. The good news is that modern browsers like newer versions of Firefox allow us to customize the look.

Your issue these days is more a problem for hand helds like cell phones where customization options can be few. Designers have to provide themes and styles that work for people that yellow - blue color blindness or your issue. The marketing want a fancy colorful display instead of the universal black print on an off-white paper background. I think book closest to a pure white background is the 100% cotton that was used for the pages of my thesis. My thesis has color pictures in it which ran up the cost. For such a small print run, color printing wasn't an option so they are actual photo prints that are glued to pages.
