(Landroval) House of Play - social, democratic, mature kinship

Who we are: We were founded by a couple of over 30 moms who love gaming. We started this kinship seeking a tight-knit, diverse, international group of men and women who are open to friendship, sharing in quests, helping each other with crafting, exploring group content/instances with laughter and learning - or just yapping about games/kids/life in kin chat.

We want our kinship to grow as a democratic one - in which decisions are made by the kinship as a whole and the direction we take and how we grow will be determined by everyone. Our code of conduct and the structure within which we will operate is still a work in progress, and is being openly discussed in our membership forums.

Who you are: Someone who likes that there are real, diverse, fascinating people manipulating those toons in-game. Someone who enjoys getting to know them, working together to create a kinship that can grow and flourish, and laughing. Someone who doesn't mind wiping and learning as we go, helping each other, or being understanding when someone's family calls and they need to go just as we hit the last boss. We are not an RP kin, though folk who do enjoy that are welcome, we don't specialize in any one aspect of the game, or any playstyle.

We are rank 10, with a kinship house in the Shire, as well as an extra house next door for crafting supplies.

Oh, and if you have a suitcase full of vocabulary, a quick wit and a penchant for puns – bring all that along!

We look forward to welcoming anyone who is interested in hopping in and helping us hew a happy, harmonious House of Play.

Contact Flamenca, Saloriel, Remilda, Hemingway, Isucy, Batcher, Willawen, or Eedwyena. If you are in AU/NZ timezone - contact Mysterieth in-game or visit: houseofplay.guildlaunch.com to apply

We look forward to meeting you!

I came to Landy to scout for a new home when S'lode goes down and I found a House of Play. Now some folk would have words and go their merry, but me, I aim to stick around and misbehave.

Seriously though, thanks for the warm welcome Flame and Sal.

I found House of Play via the forums a couple of years ago. It's everything I wanted in a kinship! Good people who've become dear friends. Come play with us!

    I Love Me Some HoP

House of Play has become my home since moving to Landy with the server merge. Reuniting with players from a previous Kin was my first thought. It did not take long to discover that this is the best kin in Lotro! Fun, laid back, incredible people, and most of all home! If you are a mature player who has a real life in the real world and wants to find a great place to escape for a while or just have fun HoP is the place to be! Join us! Oh and by the way our leader Flamenca is a great virtual hugger

Truly a wonderful kin with warm people and solid conversations, both game and social type. Typically anywhere from 10-20 toons on at the same time most every night in all level ranges, not just end-game. We have optional activities planned for most days of the week from a leveling group to an end-game raid run to creep night. This is a very active kin for those that like those things, but also free to go it alone and just socialize as desired. If you are looking for a mature, drama free, friendly kin this is one of the best (okay, it is the best, who am I kidding?).

We are actively recruiting and welcome new and experienced players alike! I'll let the previous posts speak to the value of belonging to this kinship. If you are interested in joining us or just have questions about our community, please:

    - Apply ... on our website: http://houseofplay.guildlaunch.com/ - click on 'Apply to Kinship' and one of the officers will contact you;
    - Contact ... an officer in-game. On the Social panel, Fellowing tab, search on 'House of Play' and you'll get a listing of HoP players in-game. Send us a tell and we'll put an officer in contact with you; or,
    - Send ... a mail note or private message to me in-game.

I look forward to seeing you in-game soon!

    Best Regards and Third Breakfasts,

Hi folks! I just wanted to stop by and give a shout-out to the House of Play kin. I run another kin on Landroval, and every encounter I've had with kinnies from House of Play has been great. Fun to group with, helpful in World chat (and not punitive, so thank you for that!), and I've seen some kickass cosmetics as well So, from one kin on Landy to another, thanks for bringing such great players into the community.

    Cheers!

Aw, thank you Pando!! What a kind thing to do, posting here for us. We love Golden Mallorn, too -- always happy to see your folk gadding about Middle Earth. We should do a joint kin run!! Chicken run?

So much this. I haven't felt as 'at home' in a kinship since I was running my own on Brandywine years ago. It's such an interesting group of folks who all share a love of Tolkien's glorious world. There's the knitters, the crafters, the deeders, the alt-ers, the leveling group, the level 50 Angmar group, the crazy ones, and the crazier ones. A niche for every activity; it's a joy to be here!

Y'all come on down, try some of the pie. We have the best fillings.

I love that with House of Play I can practice raiding without leveling another character all the way to 115. The turtle-stone-frozen level 50 Angmar Management group is SUCH a great idea. There's a ton of content there that isn't scale-able but is still so much fun to run, and is hard! We took a necessary Mordor break, but are back at it in September. I'm looking forward to testing my high elf Guardian. Can bash look graceful? Will her shield-taunt have a purer ringing tone? Will her helf yell still be charming after the thousandth cry? Come to HoP. We can find out together.

I have to say I've never felt so at home in a kin and I've been playing nearly 5 years! I should keep it to myself and not tell you all about it << it's perfect the way it is! But if you're awesome please join. You'll fit right in.

Are you all still open? I'm looking to return to the game after a LONG hiatus and would love to make some new friends.

We are!! We'd love to help you back into the game -- You can pop into our Discord server and say howdy if you'd like -- or use the following command to find House of Play members... one of them can get you to an officer:

    /who house of play 1 115

Should return you a list of kinmates online.

    Hope to see you soon!
