    Problems in the store - can't buy points

    I am unable to buy points in the store - and it appears I also can't buy them from Lotro market. All day yesterday, after completing all the info I get an error "System is not available. Please try again later" - I am still getting that. I tried last night from the lotro market and was able to purchase 5000, but when I went to purchase more, I got a message that they were "processing my purchase" or some such, but have not received the code yet from that purchase. Just now, after reading the frequently asked questions, it said to re-enter my information on the My Account site. When I attempted to do that, on putting in the month of expiration the drop down has 2 Julys, and no June. All the other months are there, but apparently June has been renamed to July (not to be confused with July?). So I can't enter an expiration date of June.

    Too weird for me. Any help on this?

    This is an issue we're currently working through. The months display in chronological order so the first "July" is meant to be "June". This may solve your problem.

    Choose the first July to indicate June on your account. If you continue to have problems, contact Account Support.

    They fixed the "2 Julys" issue and I was able to re-enter my credit card info. But that did not resolve the problem. It is still giving the same error on both accounts. I sent in 2 reports to account services, one two days ago, one last night, but have only received the auto-reply that they received them. I tried again this morning, still can't buy points for some reason.

    If you can, contact them by telephone, it's very much faster.

    If not then you will have to wait on those tickets - they're very busy at the best of times and it can take more than a week to get an answer.

    I wouldn't keep sending in tickets though as that tends to be frowned upon.

    Did the tickets, the helped me buy them, but have not fixed it (I still can't buy through the store).

    I wonder if it is American Express related - my card is good and working, I can buy through the web store, but not the in-game store, for some reason. I have been able to re-enter my card info.

    Work hours conflict with calling them.

    No, I've never used Steam.

    It worked fine up until the most recent patch. They've told me they are aware of the issue (though no details as to what the issue may be), and are working on it.

    I will be patient, I just hope there aren't any double-bonus point events in the near future.

    There are a couple of problems happening.

    One fix is to go to your account support page (not the in-game store) and reenter your credit card info. It was a fix in some stickie from feb/march and it worked for me.

    I did that - initially, I wasn't able to, as there were two Julys, but no June. They fixed that part and I was able to re-enter my card info, which took. It didn't fix the problem. However they did handle the purchase through the mail, and I can buy through the store (though that leaves out the double bonus point specials when they run them). It still isn't working, but they've told me they are aware of the issue (though not what the issue is) and are working to fix it.

    I do appreciate your suggestions. I suspect I shall just have to wait till they resolve whatever is causing it. The card is good, works on their web store, and I've re-entered the information twice now (and they did fix the two july issue).

    I doubt even Turbine would be foolish enough to run such a promotion when they know there's an issue for many people in purchasing Turbine Points as the whole point is to temp as many people as possible to spend.
