This is actually a nice idea but I can't help but think you're going to kill it by requiring an absurd individual grind for the mount. And if I understand it correctly we won't even know how many tokens we need before the vendor appears at the end? Please don't ruin this Turbine..

WTB release date for Helm's Deep.

Event sounds interesting, I like the idea of a world-based effort.

Can't speak for anywhere else but Monday's a public holiday here in the UK - hope the servers won't be down too long.

Erm.. What crafting?? I recall there being +100% craft xp and a Universal Toolkit on the server-level vendor, but nothing like Scroll of Perfect Craft lore sadly, though I did make that suggestion.

There's nothing crafting related as part of the 'get it rebuilt' process that I'm aware of.

; I want to say 1750 tokens per character that wants the mount if memory serves.

I wish I had taken better notes of the vendor prices.

This reminds me of the ring-lore event leading up to the launch of Mines of Moria. I enjoyed that event quite a bit. Hopefully we'll get some titles to go with this just like we did back then!

I've always enjoyed the Anniversary Events and how we could collect token while we were out questing. So the Bounders' Bounty Event sounds like great fun to me. It certainly is a better way to get me to spend time in-game than handing out double XP.

The only thing that has me worried is that we might have a long-duration serverwide buff coming in with no way to opt out of it. It's not a major problem as I can adjust my personal level of challenge via my XP disablers, but having all those XP and buffs (like those from the 'Moors) shoved at us with few to no options to avoid them makes me feel like my personal play-style is only acceptable as long as it brings Turbine some Store activity.

(I'm in no way saying that those who enjoy their serverwide buffs should have them taken away, but some sort of opt-out would be nice.)

I loved the Ring-lore gathering back before MoM... and I LOVE that warsteed skin! Guess I know I'll be playing extra amounts of LOTRO until that juicy prize is unlocked.

I completely agree on a principal level, but at least this buff doesn't have an XP component. I'm having a hard time seeing what complaint people could have on the buff as shown: Hope, Relic forging, OOC Run speed and M/R/T Damage.

Mouse over the statue (on Monday)... it's the same number that was required a number of years ago for the last server-wide competition.

Gasp... did we REALLY find that many pieces of Ring Lore?

I don't know that the numbers from Bullroarer are correct. The lists of the two vendors don't quite "mesh" the way it appears they should. Other than that your memory is high according to my sceenshots.

However, don't forget -- no mount at all until the Bounders get their Bounty (sounds like a bunch of Canadians got involved in creating this one. )

That's what I get for not writing labels in as I was going. That line must be the total I obtained from spending $60 worth of mithril

I hope you'll share the screenshots of the vendor so people have a rough idea what to plan for prior to the vendor phasing in. =)

For those who beta tested this (since this content was not under NDA):

Is it feasible to get the war-steed cosmetic on multiple toons? If so, how many? I have 9 toons and I'd really love to get the cosmetic for them all.

I believe it will depend entirely on the rate of acquisition from mobs. The quest does not provide very many, though you could re-roll repeatedly for it and take advantage of the fact that the currency is account bound.

I am very excited to see this. I loved the Ring Lore event back in the day--my LM still wears her 'Master of Forgotten Lore' title (surely we'll get a title or two this time, as well). There was a bit of competition between servers; it was nice to feel that I was contributing to the effort. The horse is great, a must-have for several of my characters.

This will get me playing more, and I hope it won't be the last one-time, server-wide event we will see. Well done, Turbine!

It sounds really fresh and funny. And it seems we will have it arround for months!

I just started wondering how server communities will work... it's kinda socialistic IMO. Some will work hard to raise the server wide donations and unlock server wide vendor while others will stock-up coins waiting to buy everything at once discounted... we'll see...

I looked at this some while 11.3 was up on BR. I liked it. I want to see more of this in the future and with the other festivals and/or the Anniversary event.

Really looking forward to this event. Although the Bounder's tokens will be dropped all over Middle Earth, the fact the collection point is in the Shire I feel provides me with an incentive to put a few more levels on my alt character.

Pity the server downtime to put this update in play is taking place on a UK bank holiday.
