    These forums scale with the size of your browser. This was a much requested feature and is now live. As you increase or decrease the size of your browser window the forums will scale. There is a point at which they stop shrinking. It's intended.

    for the firefox plugin: change the min-width with value you like.

    Code:
    body
    {
    min-width: 800px !important;
    }

    I would suggest looking at/re-evaluating the color of the forums on a not-so-great monitor (like a poor laptop monitor, for example.) I have two monitors... One is a good IPS, the other a poor LCD. Looks great on the good monitor, but the color/contrast isn't as faithful on the lower-quality monitor and is harder to read.

    WOW that is soooo much better. Thank you very much I was getting a huge headache from trying to read the default style.

    not perfect but

    Code:
    html[lang="en"] .header-wrap > header > nav > a:first-child {
        background-image: none !important;
    }

    body > div > div > header > nav > a:first-child {
        background-image:none !important;

    }

    .header-wrap > header > nav > ul {
        padding-left: 0px !important;
    }

    body {
    min-width: 900px !important;
    }
    change the min-width for body to the width of your browser window

    requires the use of stylish or similar

    also removes the logo in the header and pushes things to the left

    If you go to your profile view, there's a button to customize your profile on the right upper corner of the profile. Even though there's several options there to change colors on your profile, when you do nothing happens.

    Sapience, Is this a tool that was not intended to be there or is it waiting for future improvements?

    Tried the Stylish extension in my Chrome browser.......it didn't change anything.
    Maybe I had the wrong code or something. Likely operator error in that I simply don't understand how to use that extension.

    I don't have any idea what the issue is with the forum colour display. I have no trouble at all reading the forums.

    What kind of reply is this, exactly?

    If you don't find it difficult to read stuff with this new theme, good for you!
    No reason to be all dismissive wrt. people that DO find light-grey on dark-grey difficult to read.

    On another note, I did more work on that theme I posted earlier, now.
    Nearly white on nearly black wasn't overly convenient, either, so I went for a yellowish text color.
    Also just applies to the forum now, not the lottery and other pages.

    Enjoy.

    Then be glad that you have better eyesight/a better screen/no visual conditions which cause people to have trouble with low contrast. All of these might be reasons why the current display cause quite a number of other people problems.

    I for one have no problem with my ears and can hear and discern quite minute details without problems. That does not mean that people who have trouble with their hearing are imagining it if they say they can't hear something that I do hear.

    Or, put more generally, the fact that you or I don't have a specific problem doesn't mean that everyone else is imagining it.

    It would be really nice if we could get some indication that Turbine at least understands that this is a problem for a considerable number of people. I don't expect an immediate fix, but the reactions we've gotten so far seem to indicate that the official response is "Well, we can read it, so whatever". That's a pity.

    And yes, I can and will install the Stylish code now. But I shouldn't *have to* with something that has been announced so extensively beforehand as a great improvement to what we had before.

    Edit: SNy-lotrolinux-EU, your code is fantastic. Thanks a lot! I know how to apply such improvements, but coding them is beyond my skill set, so it's great when people take the time to share their work.

    Just simply cannot get the Stylish extension to change things in my Chrome Browser.

    I copied and pasted the exact code that is in the above posts but nothing changes when I go to the forums.

    The Gray on Black is giving me a headache so I guess my time of using these forums is at an end unless I can get the
    Stylish extension to work in Chrome. :-(

    Using SNy's code further up the page (thanks for the comments in the code; made my life easier!), I fiddled around to make it look like another forum that I frequent (and whose colors I feel are great). It's not fully done yet but I plan to finish it tomorrow or later. If anyone wants to have a look, here's a link to it: http://userstyles.org/styles/91287/lotro-forums-light

    I tried pasting the code in here but the indentation and formatting was all messed up. Feel free to copy it and edit, if anyone wants to.

    Is there any way to go to my profile view without search for one of my posts and clicking on my name?

    By the way: the 15% margin is great

    Medium grey text on dark grey stinks.. Hopefully its going to change to a more friendly base color.

    Not sure where the color change is Sapience mentioned.

    Do love the background picture from an old dungeon tho.

    Huh, so I will take this back. Apparently the forums triggered some sort of setting in Chrome. I noticed (for the first time ever on any site I've ever visited) that there was a magnifying glass at the end of my address bar. Clicking on it, it looked like it had been set to a 120% zoom. I selected the 'reset to default' option and they now scale. Odd that the site triggered that response in Chrome.

    I copied the latest coding SNy posted into Stylish, but deleted the top part

    Code:
    @namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml); @-moz-document url-prefix("https://lotro.com/forums/"), url-prefix("https://www.lotro.com/forums/") {
    then, underneath where it says Applies to: I chose URLs starting with and put in https://www.lotro.com/forums/ then clicked save. Works for me now

    Ahhh, thank you! Greatly appreciated! I tried the version posted by SNy-lotrolinux-EU as well, but that still required me to side-scroll to center the forum posts; I guess the header logo (or something) still forced the overall page size to remain enormously wide. This works very nicely! Sapience, I'd recommend that you guys change the minimum size to 800 or 900 pixels instead of what it is now, for those of us who don't like our browsers to take up more than half of our monitors...

    As you've discovered, you can change your text color if you'd like to change your posts so that they don't have that effect on others.
    I'm sorry that you suffer from migraines.
    Myself, I suffer from just run of the mill headaches when I try to read something that doesn't have enough contrast between the text and background colors.
    Perhaps the text color/contrast should become a top priority, since you want people to actually read the forums for information, not just depend on rumors in GLFF.

    I can not stand dark text on a light background (or as I like to call it the windows retina destroyer) it is very hard to use for long periods of time, where I can I change it and I am going to change to this colour combination in other programs as this is the best combination I have seen to date.

    Glad to be of service.

    Regarding the Chrome plugin, I already thought that the -moz-document prefix would cause a problem with everything non-Mozilla, but failed to find a proper document detailing what the alternative working for both browsers would be.
    Maybe now that you have it working, you could take a look at the settings your plugin has made and report back?
