Reinstate Hobnanigans as an event for one of the festivals.

    Please. Pretty, pretty please.

Perhaps the NPCs on the playing field are an indication this may make an appearance, time will tell.

Hmm, I had no Idea so many others shared my love of hobnanigans, since it's been gone so long. I suppose that was foolish of me not to realize.

But this is good news, good news indeed! The future of chicken ball looks promising!

That wiki discription is a little misleading. You don't quite attempt to catch chickens. Rather, you would take a game stick and proceed to mercilessly beat a single chicken in to the opposing teams goal.

It was great fun, and worth a handful of laughs.

To be honest I made the thread as a bit of a jab, or curse, thinking we'd never see the likes of hobnanigans again. So it's very refreshing to see that there's a possible return in the future. And it's equally delightful to see how many remember and cherish the sport as I do.

As far as I know the original chicken ball game was coded by a contractor and bought for use in Lotro as was the mail system. It had several flaws, ways to cheat etc., PETA also viewed it as encouraging violence toward animals and complained. The main reason revisions of the mail system have not been done, mainly is blamed on the fact that the coding for the mail system was done out of house, and to modify it would either require a total rewrite or involve a ton of work. Wither this applies to the ever famous chicken ball game I don't know. The main code of this game has been modified cobbled and changed so much I am not even sure that the game would work if they were to reinstate it. The reported sightings of the npcs involved in the game reappearing might have been turbine "turning it on" to see how much activated and what set off problems. Kinda like pulling the old Atari console out of the attic and somehow jury rigging it to a modern tv, inserting the original Space Invader cartridge and hitting the power switch.

    Ah; thanks.

Doesn't sound like anything I'd want to do; but at least now I know.

What anyone has failed to mention so far, sitting in the middle of the play field, is this:
