    Rebuilding Archet

Here is probably the weirdest thing you will ever see on the forums...
A SEPERATE QUEST-LINE TO REBUILD ARCHET! You heard right, rebuild Archet!

    Back story:
After many years of lying in waste, mourning over the dead, the citizens of Archet have decided to rebuild their home, and bring the hop back into the small town. Players have found themselves in the presence of Jon Brackenbrook, the new leader of the town, and he wishes to rebuild. Together, the player will team up with citizens in order to complete trading quests, instances, and other types of content to rebuild the city into a legend. The once burned city will rise again, removing the cursed shadow from above.

    Quests:
    -Timber!!!
Back story: The people of Archet will need lumber to rebuild the supports of building and the palisades. Considering the amount of boars and wolves outside of the city, the citizens are all afraid to leave. You have been asked to gather the wood for them, as they recognize you as a strong hero for lending your aid to rebuild.
Objective 1: Cut down limbs from the sturdiest trees in Chetwood.
    Objective 2: Defeat Blackwold brigands(0/16)
    -Gather 8 bundles of twigs.
Objective 3: Talk to Constable Thistlewool
    ---------------------------------------------
    -Smithy!
Back story: The people of Archet need a smithy to craft armour and weapons for the watchers. You will need to gather the supplies worthy of a hero's forge. Together, with the help of a few watchers, you must journey into the depths to find stone, iron, and the supplies for lighting the forge.
Objective 1: Collect stone in the caverns of Midgewater Marsh(0/20)
-Collect iron from goblin camps in Northern Bree-land(0/10)
-Collect coal, torches, and flintlock from metal smith's in Bree(0/3)
Objective 2: Help the people of Archet construct the forge.
Objective 3: Talk to Jon Brackenbrook
    ----------------------------------------------
    Up with the walls!
Back story: After gathering the wood for the walls, the people of Archet have requested your assistance in rebuilding the palisade that defends the town. Without it, an attack could be launched at any time, and all of your work could be destroyed by the Blackwolds. You will have to direct the citizens to where they need to be, and you will need to build yourself. The Blackwolds won't accept that you are rebuilding the city, so you should keep a look out for archers, trying to slow you down.
Objective 1: Lead the workers to the work places on the wall(0/6)
Objective 2: Defend wagons that are entering from Combe, delivering supplies(0/3)
    Objective 3: Defeat Blackwold warriors(0/10)
    -Defeat Blackwold Torch-Bearers(0/10)
Objective 4: Blow the horn to call the guard(0/1)
Objective 5: Defend the wall for three minutes.
Objective 6: Talk to Constable Thistlewool
    -Talk to Jon Brackenbrook
    ----------------------------------------------
    Building the Craft Hall.
Back story: The people of Archet have the forges and workbenches, but they don't have anywhere to house the crafting stations! Gather the materials and build the largest craft hall you can, the people of Archet will need it if they wish to defend themselves from the Blackwolds!
Objective 1: Gather stone from Midgewater Marshes(0/20)
-Gather iron from goblin caves in Thorin's Hall(0/20)
-Gather wood from trees in Chetwood(0/20)
Objective 2: Sort the materials out(0/3)
    -Direct the workers into place(0/8)
Objective 3: Move workbenches into the craft hall(0/5)
-Move forges into the craft hall(0/6)
-Move studies into the craft hall(0/4)
-Move supplies into the craft hall(0/10)
Object 4: Speak to Jon Brackenbrook.
    More to come...

You'll have to defend Archet from the invading forces, but since you have increased the size of Archet's army from a mere ten to nearly two hundred, it should be easier.

Thumbs up Sounds like a great plan.

I for one would love to see this happen. I always felt like Archet was unfinished. I remember some quest in Archet were someone asked me to get his tools & then sending me to Combe to get lumber to supply the rebuild. I was like "were is the next quest to fix this place" when I first started to play.

Alright, at first I thought, as I was reading, 'ok this is an alright idea'. Then I read the last post whereby there would be level 95 rewards, and this is what I think. Ok so you're suggesting we go all the way back to Archet to rebuild it and grind for rep to get some gear. That's a terrible idea. If it was a lowbie quest line perhaps but even then, there's so much diversity in the quest lines. Don't like Combe? Go to Celondim/Thorin's/Michel Delving. There so many places to go at low levels there's no need for it, and there's certainly no need to go back to Archet at 95 to rebuild a city most haven't seen since they were level 7. This is yet another grind to rebuild yet another city. /not signed.

I also dislike the idea of doing this at max level.

However, I do like the idea of introducing limited amounts of non-instanced landscape phasing in earlier areas of the game.

It would be interesting to see if we could come up with one small "impact" players might have on each region of Middle-earth, and brainstorm how those could be implemented.

I'm simply suggesting level 95 stats. Of course, the items should be based on level, not based on completion. This is just a side quest set, not an endgame. It goes by fairly quick, I hated Hytbold, that's why I decide we should have that, but shorter. It all depends on what level you do it... There will be different categories... Level 10 gear, level 20 gear, level 30 gear, etc... It's by level.

    Should have mentioned this /smackhead

The items will be categorized by level.
You will have level 10-20 gear,
    level 20-30 gear,
    level 30-40 gear,
    level 40-50 gear,
    level 50-60 gear,
    level 60-70 gear,
    level 70-80 gear,
    etc.
I simply listed possible stats for level 95... My bad.
    ------------
    Also:
This is a side quest line, you aren't forced to do it, it's just for fun.

Note that I added in later in response that it could be built at any level, and the gear would be upgraded every 10 levels, or so... I just used level 95 stats because I see more level 85 stats than anything.

I think the OP put a lot of thought into the scenario and it could be fun. I actually like the idea of all levels being able to do it and receive some benefit. It would bring uber levels back to an area which they may not have visited in an age. It's not an epic quest or part of any chain that you must do to get from A to Z. If it sounds like to much of a grind, just don't do it.

An idea occurred to me reading this that there are probably a few other towns that could use some lovin' - Trestlebridge immediately comes to mind. Possibly shorter quests involving other areas that have been put to the torch? Again, not ones where you must do them all - no quest chain involving multiple towns, like Hytbold. Hytbold really IS a grind. Just a few quests for each town which would allow you to see the town rebuilt and give you a little something to remember them by.

I kinda like this idea, but only if it's an optional series as presented, and not integral to moving on. Unless, of course, it starts its own line of quests and deeds? Perhaps starting here, we can rebuild different areas in the world that have been destroyed. Rebuild Archet, then Trestlebridge, then move on to rebuild other places, to end up with being awarded with some deeds and a few titles with an ultimate rebuilder title at the end?

I would like this. Hytbold was fun, but my two mains have done it and my level 55 won't get there for a couple of years.

It goes by fairly quick, I hated Hytbold, that's why I decide we should have that, but shorter. It all depends on what level you do it... There will be different categories... Level 10 gear, level 20 gear, level 30 gear, etc... It's by level.

I hated hytbold too, and this is barely any different. Like I said, just another grind to rebuild yet another city. You still need to grind for rep.

We've already got plenty of options. To grind rep at such a low level would be very grindy and not worth It given how fast one can get to 20+

Ok... Let's look at it like this:
When the level cap was level 50, did we not have to grind for armour in Angmar?
When the level cap was level 60, did we not have to grind for Moria Medallions and armour?
When the level cap was level 75, did we not have to grind Great River for rep to get jewelery?
    How about Draigoch cloak grinding?
    _______________
My point exactly... Every aspect of the game has grinding in it, we just have to deal with it.

Also, must I add again that this can be completed at any level, and gear is improved every 10 levels.
    ~Glor
PS(This means that even if you are lvl20+, it's still worth it)

Of course we did and you inadvertently proved my point. Of course we had to grind, but that was at level cap.
When we were grinding for gear in Angmar that was because Angmar was endgame.
When we were grinding for gear in Moria that was because Moria was endgame.
When we were grinding for gear in Great River that was because Great River was endgame.
And further still when we were grinding for gear in Hytbold that was because Hytbold was endgame.
When we grind for gear in the upcoming expansion that will be because the upcoming region will be... Go ahead, take a guess... Endgame.

When did we ever return to places to grind gear and how many can honestly say that they grind gear in Angmar still? And gear in Moria and Great River. How many can honestly say they still grind LLG rep for those jewellery pieces they will quickly out level because Rohan goes fast and has better gear?

There's already decent gear that can be crafted and if you really want to get geared up, the instances all drop really good scaled stuff, I've seen lower leveled folks with gold class items. And in addition to that, the rep stuff from various factions all offer decent jewellery. Leveling is so easy and you quickly out level things, who really wants to go back to Archet then back to the place they were leveling. This idea is good, in theory, but upon implementation, would not be.

I recently got my level 45 RK to the Moria Epic wearing level 20 gear because it is too easy to level nowadays and there's a lot of places to go, I was torn between Forochel and Angmar, and further still, after having done Bree quests so many times, Ered Luin ones were refreshing. I've never done the Thorin ones but those are available to me as well if I wanted to take my next toon there. There's plenty of options at lower levels to quest, and lots of rep to grind.
Good idea again, though. You clearly put a lot of thought into it.

I didn't really write it out for grinding gear... I wrote it out because I thought it would be nice to finally see the people of Archet find new homes. But, since people are wondering about gear... I wrote out a stat list for level 10, 20, 30, 40, 65, and 85 gear(Skipped 50-64 because of Moria gear, skipped 75 for Great River... Here goes:
