    No-word Tolkien Trivia

Yeah, I know. This one sounds like it will be difficult, but bear with me.

We have had One-word Tolkien Trivia, then I started a Two-word version and someone else started up a Three-word version.
Now it’s time for the ultimate version: No-word Tolkien Trivia.

    Here’s how this will work:

The forum software won’t allow a post with no text at all so the clues will consist of ten characters (maybe just dots like this ..........) and after that is entered you will stare at the space just after the dots and think really hard about something Tolkienesque. This can be anything from any Tolkien published work, even from the “Letters”.
Then you just click the “Submit reply” button.
If no one guesses correctly after a few trys you can begin submitting clues to help move the thread along.
    I’ll get us started:

    ..........

(You think this is a stupid, cheesy and ridiculous idea? What do you think of the Hobbit Presents one-armed bandit?)

    Sorry, not Eru.
But, Eru is aware of what is the correct answer.

Reading the title I thought that this thread would include numbers instead of words. Do you think it would be possible to post some riddles in numeral form?

    OT: Boromir?

I suggest playing John Cage's 4'33'' in the background during the guess to be mandatory

I was going to send you a PM to remind you, but I figger'd you were listening to 4'33" and I didn't want to disturb you.

Just realized I never answered the riddle....It's Eru. "!" is the keyboard character when you shift+1 and the 1 in M.E. is of course Eru.

Plus, the OCD in me wanted all the _-word threads together, I'll let someone else put them in order.

Off to get a copy of 4'33"

I think Ironcrown misunderstood the format of this riddle as explained by Boraxxe. Although the thread title says "No word" it is really "No clue" trivia. Although Boraxxe said that if the first several guesses were wrong, he might post a clue to help, Ironcrown posted his clue right off the bat.

Where I think we currently are with this thread is that Ironcrown asked and answered his own "until Urwendil gets back" question, putting the riddle stick back in the hands of Urwendil. Urwendil never posted his follow up question, but that isn't a problem here since this is a no-clue trivia thread.

Soooo, my answer to his unasked no-clue question is this:

The Cats of Queen Beruthiel and the two missing Istari

being the only two things specifically mentioned in LotR that (per Tolkien's own admission) had no existing lore backstory when the book was published.

Following your example, if we turn to The Hobbit, there is the great king Bladorthin who also lacks a backstory.
