Spear Warden DPS vs Shield Warden DPS... much of a difference?

    Hi everyone
So my question is in the title, is there much of a DPS difference between a spear traited warden and shield traited one? On my server there are several (very good) PvMP wardens that gear for DPS but trait shield, and claim the difference in DPS is very minimal. However us spear wardens seem to think differently As I have been told, a shield traited warden geared for DPS in reckless can easily knock up 1.7k DPS, not bad. I am a big fan of spear line myself, and on, say for example an Outpost tyrant, I can comfortably hit around 2k DPS. I was wondering on other warden's opinions, from experience if anyone has anything to add to this I'd love to hear it

I have found that once I went fist in the moors (desolation 50% fear chance), I no longer found shield dps interesting.

cant remember exact numbers but I can get 2.2k fist in the moors while I strugle to get 1.5 shield. numbers are from soloing red OP's.

so IMO there is a huge difference between spear/fist and shield.

I see quite a few of those shield-traited-and-DPS-geared Wardens on my server as well, just doesn't seem like as much fun to me. I don't mind dying in PvMP, though.

In my opinion... you need to save up 995 TP and change that name to "TheCookyMonster"

For your education, a little history regarding the term "cooky": Cooky cutter Wardens.

No thanks, I just gave the gift of knowledge. I don't need anything in return.

Are we talking dps in the moors, or DPS in PvE here?

I'd argue its a very significant difference in dps if you're in recklessness or determination, given all the things that go along with melee combat (assuming your opponent is competent).

If we're talking about assailment dps, this margin of difference shrinks considerably (though it is still certainly there).
