    Update error monday 17th

    Hi everybody !

    Today was released a new update and I download it. After the download the launcher installed the files and show 4500 iterations. After installing, a new download of 4500 files started. It was called client-highres.dat...
    It was too slow and I just decide to close launcher (after downloading average 1700 files of 4500 in 1 hours).
    Now when I want to play, I'm dealing with the famous error update. I checked on the forum to find a solution but nothing works.

    Here is my LotroLauncher.log after the last try of playing :

    It probably found an issue in the client_highres.dat data file and started downloading it again. it is a large file around 4.29GB hence the slow d/l.

    If you stopped the d/l then it is not fixed or probably incomplete hence the error. You need to either let it download, or reinstall the beta Mac client from the disk image/Steam and patch up again. Reinstall is probably the faster root and patch back up to U9.

    Other option is to try an app like Pacifist to extract the individual file from the disk image installer Lotrolauncher.dmg, and replace the existing one:

    The path to the file should be something like;

    LotroLauncher.dmg/Contents/Resources/lotroclient.app/Contents/Resources/client_highres.dat

    On the installed client it is the same just the name in the Applications will be The Lord of the Rings Online™ rather than LotroLauncher.app.

    To install you need to navigate to the The Lord of the Rings Online™ app then Right Click > Show Package Contents to navigate the the file.

    Note! You will need to do the same for the second The Lord of the Rings Online™ (actually lotroclient.app) app found in the Resources folder.

    Not sure it will work but worth a try if download is slow.
