    captains and power

ok, so ive been randomly looking at captains lately during skraids and stuff, and ive noticed that captains i see tend to have 2.5k-3.5k power. im at 5.1k, and im just wondering, how do you captains survive with a power pool that small? and what exactly am i missing here that there is a benefit from running with power that low.

You want to lower your power pool to the point that you have to use pots. By putting them into the rotation you can free up stats for stuff like might and crit. I'm not saying make it close, just substitute your power with pots they are cheap.

Use "now for wrath" always in a raid, run inspire blade brother and switch to inspire song brother if you or the raid starts to get low on power. Add defensive strike into your rotation after blade of elendil for a power boost.

In a raid you can also run blade brother, hit to arms, then when To arms is over run song brother inspire until to arms is back up then switch back to blade brother.

im never without "now for wrath". and with 6 sec rally cry, i basically never need to pot. only reason i wont be using blade-brother is if the healer runs low on power.

defensive strike is is used every other skill for me. helps fill in the gaps between CD's.

i can see the reasoning behind lowering it for more crit/might, but i just cant seem to go lower than 4k-ish power...even putting on max might/crit gear. maybe i just dont have the right gear atm....idk. but im finding it impossible to even lower my power pool down to 3k :P

I wish I had that problem. I'm somewhere between 2.5k and 3k, forget atm, but I get around just fine. I put on more power for pvp raids though.

im in a bit of a mix of gear atm. but im still at 4.6k power. neck is the only place with raw powe in jewelry, although the armour has some too...but not more than a few hundred. idk why my power is so high lol

With song brother i have found many captains to have gotten lazy with their power, and adding to that many other classes as well. Great having a champion shout at a captain to put song bother on him.

just be aware that every time you switch / drop your "brother", everyone loses the active strength of will buff.

I never unslot Now for Wrath. When solo DPS'ing it gives me power and morale to fight the long fight. When in a group the only reason we'd need a LM is for the cc. I have to say captains overall are probably the best power restorers in the game (obviously LM's are better with regards to burst power restore but captains restore more overall). That's why most of us have a lower power pool

my cappy has 3k power on raiding, song bro will be your power pool, if your dps on raids you will definitely have power issues, but most likelu your support 90% of the time, only thing to focus on is might and crit, my crit could go to 11k and might up to 2.4k and can go higher, if your near those stats, your inspire will heal 300 power/morale per tick if crit which would pop almost all the time, valiant strike hits 1k crit and rally HoT ticks would go 300s as well

Glancing at your build on the my.lotro page, I'd say you probably pick up your glut of power from your relics. Like Gems of Hope/Charity and True Rune of Two Trees maybe?

You recall incorrectly. Regardless of if and when the brother skill is untoggled, SoW won't wear off until normal expiration on non-brothers, but upon dropping the brother toggle it will be removed from folks with full brother benefits possibly including yourself depending on traits.

i get a total of ~700 power. which would drop me down to just under 4k. still seems way higher than every other cappy i see(discounting cappys seen in the moors)

6/6 Hytbold Healer will put you at 3.8k power.... in addition to having the most might of all the 85 sets, and second only to Perseverance for crit.

I have somwhere around 3-3.5k power. Now for wrath + 7 targets pressing attack + 12k crit (skirm & fully buffed) makes power a non issue for me, can't remember when using a power pot the last time.

Ofc, it all depends on what you want to achieve, in Etten, i wouldn't mind having 5-6k power, those nasty banners/will debuffs/flies would have a lot less impact. But a moors build with 5k power would mean a severely reduced might/vit/morale/mitigation and would probably not be worth it in the end.
