Thumbs down Graphics Error, Please Help!

I downloaded the game today, and when the Character Creator screen came up, the graphics were VERY glitched. My screen was mostly black, but where there should have been my character was a ball off graphic fragments. I'm don't know much about computers, so can anyone please help me? I haven't found anything else on other forums. I already have it automatically set to Direct x9, and I've tried adjusting the other graphic settings, but nothing works.

Perhaps a screen shot of this would help... I had a similar issue a while back, I don't really remember what I did to fix it and I'm sure somebody else will know but I believe that there's a button under the options menu (if you can access it) that allows you to automatically set the graphics to the recommended settings for your computer. Hope this problem works out for you!

without knowing your sytem specs its also possible your graphics card isnt capable of running lotro or at the very least your gaphics drivers may need to be updated, please post your system specs or dxdiag so we are better placed to advise you what the problem may be

I'm not great with computers, so I don't know all the information that will help but; Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1 Build 2600), Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.60GHz (2CPUs), Memory: 1022MB RAM, DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c.

I've gone through all the tabs on my dxdiag, and it says there's no issue with anything. I'm currently trying to install any new DirectX files through Windows Update.

Also, I have a screen shot if that helps, but I'm not sure where I can attach it to this post.

What we need to know is what your graphics processor is. If it says something like "Intel Integrated Graphics", that's not good news.

Your system specs are pretty low, and if you don't have a dedicated graphics card, I'm not surprised at what you are seeing. I'm guessing that your system is over 4 years old, and wasn't state-of-the-art even then. You may not be able to play LotRO on that computer.
