    Question Activating the Rohan Expansion purchase on F2P account.

    Hey everyone.

    I used to be a month-to-month subscriber in LOTRO 5 years ago, I took a 4-year break from the game (shortly after Moria came out) and just recently returned after hearing about LOTRO becoming a F2P game. I have been enjoying the new contents that came out while I was gone, and when I saw the special sale for Rohan, I couldn't help but grab myself a copy.

    But this is when I hit a snag. The purchase went through successfully and I followed the instruction to go to the Turbine website, log in, and entered the activation code for Rohan (my account in on Premium status since I was a former subscriber), but the website just keeps returning the message "You cannot upgrade an account that has been suspended due to non-payment).

    Well... I tried clicking the "Resume subscription" link and that immediately took me to a page to enter my payment info and then forced me to choose a payment plan. Well needless to say, I want to remain F2P??

    So how exactly am I supposed to activate Rohan on my F2P account when the only way the do is to become a VIP? =_=

    Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

    I figured out the problem - apparently my accounts were being locked out from upgrades because the old credit card I had on file is no longer valid - and even though I am now on F2P, it still wanted an updated payment info before allowing me to proceed with account upgrades.

    This is a carry-over from the pay to play days. If you haven't already, you will need to contact Account Management so they can clear that flag to let the change go through.

    One thing you could try is to choose "Game Card" when asked for payment method, and later choose the "I don't have a game card at the moment, will apply one later" option.

    If that doesn't work you will have to contact Turbine Support to get things fixed.
