    War-steed Cosmetics

    http://mmoreporter.com/2012/10/12/lo...aron-campbell/
    Beginning at around 18:05...

How many of the steed gear/caparison/saddle/etc. choices were witnessed in the Beta?

Especially the accessories (around 19:00) seemed to contain a number I haven't even heard of, so far: Accessory Bins? Accessory of the Easterlings?

There is definitely stuff in there that I never saw in beta (and I was in since round 1). For example right at the start - the horse has a wrap around its tail. There's definitely a tail slot, but we never saw anything besides a thing to change the tail's color. Disclaimer though - it may have been available in later areas. I only ever got to level 80 because there were a lot of character wipes and I just didn't have as much time to play except on weekends. But most of the stuff they showed in the appearance tab (especially the gear/accessory stuff) is totally new to me.

This is encouraging though. One of the things we complained about was that there just wasn't a whole lot of cosmetic pieces to play with besides the quest rewards and the items that come from the class steeds. This shows however they do have a lot of cosmetics in the works, which honestly knowing them I wouldn't have expected anything less. They always remind us in beta that their internal build is one or two builds ahead of the build we get tot est out, so it may very well be that they just didn't show us all the shiny cosmetics in the last build we got.

I didn't see anything about "accessory bins" unless you mean the section of the warsteed appearance tab that holds all the different things that can be slotted under the "gear" slot on your horse.

I've been going on the assumption that the beta did not include some things, particularly cosmetic, since they might want to keep a few suprises from even the beta testers. Myself, even though I understand the importance of beta testing, I mostly stopped after the 3rd round. I only have one toon at level, and love being surprised. So I left it for those who are much better at finding bugs and don't mind repeating content, or rebuilding a toon. Looking forward to RoR though, what I did see and play was great fun.

There's 100 different mounted appearance traits I came across in the beta (easy to do, as one full equipment set is five traits). But there's substantially more than that in the cosmetics pane in the video. A LOT more cosmetics there than were available during the beta. But I kinda figured that to be the case, given the Winged Herald cosmetics that were used as stand-in appearances at one point, and the rumours of the Skeleton Steed skin. A lot of what's there is probably new store cosmetics, but some of it could be matches for other existing steeds.

Here's the 20 or so that I hadn't seen before (the rest are on the wiki).

    And the dino-horse!

Thank you, Jadzi, for collecting those tooltips together! Wow!

All those Heavy (piece of gear) of (Region in Eastemnet)?
Are parts of bundled sets currently on Live Store (each for 995 TPs, I think), and can be seen on the Outfitted War-horses throughout the Eastemnet. Other War-Steed cosmetics from the Store (sans bundled as part of Class steeds/Steed of Night) are currently unavailable.

So actually we got to see more in Beta than people do on Live, at the moment...

But the most thrilling tidbit, after a fashion, in that video regarding these?
    Warden's Halter.

Dye-able gear would be nice. Especially when it mixes a chunk of green-ish whatever you wanna call it with my all black setup. I spent TP to have this black steed of the champion. :/ Unfortunately it is not daytime in game at the moment so its kind of harder to see. But I did notice it

I got the Orc Head on a Pike Accessory last night from a warband box.

On the steed skin & dye packs, are these account based or char based? In the store it says uses: 1. Most other items either say uses: account or character.

Are the war steed cosmetics for toilet paper purchase only or can we get them in the game too?

Some cosmetics you get through quests, but the steed color and the cosmetic dyes for the cosmetic pieces are through the store.

Far as we can tell, atm, they're character bound.

May I ask what size/type (still can't remember the correct term) War-horse you have? Light?

You may have noticed that certain thread where I was lamenting the end of beta and the loss of my somewhat colorful spotted steed.

Funny story. Yesterday, first day of Rohan, I went around and killed all the Wold warbands for the heck of it. Turned in the quests.

Very first box I ever opened. Very. First. Box.

Can steed colors also drop in the boxes or is the store our only option?

Based on what was discovered in Beta... I'm afraid the Store's our only option currently.

And what a wonderful screenshot you have of the two of you, too.

Meanwhile, I'll just be gathering up courage to challenge even any of the Wold warbands on my huntress... despite the fact that even red mounted mobs can barely even hurt her...

On the horse-models around the Eastemnet, I've seen, so far, only two of the four offered bundles:

Those fancy accessories the tooltip for which was seen in that video?

They're in the Store! 19 of them, to be exact.

    Same goes for tail decorations...
Though there's only 11 of those...

I want to know what happened to all the Piece by Piece warsteed cosmetics we saw in beta from the store? There were a lot of good pieces in there... These need to be added back into the store. Also these new bundles they've put in the store need to have a piece by piece option as well.

Are we ever going to see the Class Mounts put in a piece by piece or bundle w/o the normal steed in the store? As it stands Class Mounts are 1k more expensive than the current bundled appearances.

One other thing is we said it in beta from the moment they were put in the Horse Colorings and the Gear Dyes need to be account granted for the prices you are charging for them given this is the only method we can obtain them that any of us have seen!

Was looking at those items in the store earlier, it's great that you can preview them before buying. I didn't really like any of the tails though I missed the gear section though, not sure how, will have another look tomorrow.

On a side note, I made a thread in the War-Steeds forums for players to showcase their steed outfits..

I'm entirely curious why the only store-appearances I can find are the 4 bundles. None of the other offers want to display for my character.

Totally agree. I was really looking forward to experimenting with the horse cosmetics but there is no way im paying close to 600 TP for 4 colours for only 1 character. Looks like a lot of people aren't will to pay that either: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?483577

At least for me, Accessories and Tail cosmetics are under:
Store -> War-steeds -> Appearances -> Accessories/Tail, and the bundled Heavy sets are under Bundled sets...
Weird that they're not displaying for your character... /bug it?

Something I just realized... Accessories and Tails can neither be dyed. If you try to dye a Tail, the steed's tail changes colour, not the decorations.
I wonder if this might be tied in with the lack of the piece-meal cosmetics we saw in Beta, all of which were more or less fully dyeable?
They want to offer, at first, only a relatively limited amount of cosmetic versatility?

Or then to distract people with New Pretties after a while...
