    Whats a lathbear?

Title is self explanatory. I got one, but it doesnt look like any bears ive ever seen. What are those things coming out of its back? Why doesnt it have a proper bear nose and mouth?

    Whats a lathbear?

It's a really strange bear yes ! But, I found this wallpaper here : http://lotroimages.akamai.lotro.com/...00x1200-FR.jpg

Is it the same "bear" ? I think... Maybe the Eastemnet's bear

A lathbear is a demonic bear that you will face in Rohan. You're right, they don't look much like natural bears.

I considered buying it, but seeing the screenshot, decided against it. Its maybe nice for some, but not for me.

    For the heck of it...

láthbear: láð + bear, 'evil'* + bear

"Láthspell I name you, Ill-news; and ill news is an ill guest they say."
-Grima Wormtongue to Gandalf, The Two Towers

And yes, they are evil. *shivers* Creepy as heck and twice as angry.

    * hated, hateful, hostile, malignant, evil, loathsome, noxious, unpleasant, etc.... From Old English.

Láthbears are creepy things... perhaps they are to Ghost Bear what drakes are to dragons? Or lesser eagles to eagles?

They have their own fog-strewn valley, by the way. And a cave full of souls.
