    OK, this was inspired by one of the possible threads I was investigating for the last riddle:

    Significant crafting transgression
    “...and he lived happily ever after, to the end of his days”

    Aule sort of crafted the dwarves without permission from Eru. After he got busted he was going to smash his creations and Eru stopped him.

    Only Boraxxe has the answer! I’d say creation of the dwarves was fairly significant in the grand scheme of things!

    Your turn...

    Looks like it's time for a hint;

    To put some time perspective on it, this refers to an event that happened before the Council of Elrond.

    Would this be the damage caused to the room at the Prancing Pony by the Nazgul after not finding the hobbits asleep in their beds?

    That's it! (Though it's debatable as to whether it was Nazgul or not. Jackson showed Nazgul, Tolkien left it sort of ambiguous.)

    Yer up bambu.

    I always read it as Bill ferny and the southern raiding the pony, as it seems out of character for the nazgul based on how they work, and based on what Strider says.

    Good point. I read that part again and the book ain't specific as to who did the damage to the room. It is interesting to note that Butterbur, who claimed to have stayed awake all night, never heard a sound. Oh well.

    Here's another that should be pretty easy: time-worn tune transaction

    If transaction is understood as an exchange or interaction between people, I would go for the first meeting of Aragaorn and Arwen. Aragorn was singing about Luthien and that led him to call Arwen as Tinuviel. Since Beren and Luthien are from the first age, the song about them should be "time-worn".

    Tiime-worn = old, yet not forgotten?
    Tune = Song
    Transaction = Exchange?

    Song of Earendil sung by Bilbo at Rivendell? The song, obviously about Earendil, (Elrond's father), who passed over middle-earth and became a star (exchanging his form for another?).

    hephburz is on the right track with the meaning. Just go a bit simpler.

    How about The Ent and The Entwife as Sung by Treebeard to Merry and Pippin?
    It is an exchange of verses between an Ent and an Entwife and starts like this;

    Ent:

    When spring unfolds the beechen-leaf and sap is in the bough,
    When light is on the wild-wood stream, and wind is on the brow,
    When stride is long, and breath is deep, and keen the mountain air,
    Come back to me! Come back to me, and say my land is fair!

    Entwife:

    When Spring is come to garth and field, and corn is in the blade,
    When blossom like a shining snow is on the orchard laid,
    When sun and shower upon the earth with fragrance fill the air,
    I'll linger here, and will not come, because my land is fair!

    It continues like that with Ent and Entwife taking turns with the verses.
