I ain't lookin' to drag this out too long, so here's a hint:
the answer involves a gift.

Today is a good day for Pie.
Do not meddle in the affairs of Burglars, for they are subtle and quick to shank you.
Ummh.
faelnirv? or rather something having to do with it?
"I imagine you know the answer, of course, or can guess it as easy as winking, since you are sitting comfortably at home and have not the danger of being eaten to disturb your thinking."
[The Hobbit, or There and Back Again; Riddles in the Dark]
Not quite sure what that is...
but to make things a bit clearer: the alcohol is the gift.

I assume alcohol can be any kind of beverage... And accolade is a gift or reward, so I assume what we are looking for is the gift of a changed/altered/modified (Adjusted) drink from one to another?
Under these parameters my guess would have to be... Miruvor - given to Gandalf by Elrond before the fellowship departed.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it... Enjoy.
"Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare."
Let's try another track...
The alcohol did the altering (influenced), and the accolade was verbal. The Lotr time frame is correct though.![]()

Perhaps the ent-draught drunk by Merry and Pippin in which it adjusted their height?

I'll drop another clue: the alcohol gift was wine.

Three of the four main hobbits had dreams in the house of Tom Bombadil (Sam slept like a log), which is located on the outskirts of the Old Forest. Are you looking for a particular specimen of these dreams?

Well, there's also the Fellowship stay in Lorien which was rather psychedelic with them losing track of time.

Incidentally I'm generating a base of trivia questions for LOTROcon. Submit yours at: Swig and Trivia.
I'd appreciate all the help we can get.
